I have red some of the DG/Pike/3Leaf drama.

I guess his current behavior is right : doing what HE thinks is right for his business.

Over-exposure and being drown in strangers’ point of view is the best way to lose focus and take the bad words personally.

I used to have the very same position, designing a product and a service for hardcore enthusiasts. Receiving complaints from the community 24/7 is tiresome.
Do "A" everybody’s gonna complain you have not done "B".
Do "B" everybody’s gonna complain you have not done "A".

IMO he’s better off TB. At some point, you need to disconnect yourself from the negativity (whether it is justified or not is not the topic here).

And here I thought Broughton drops were brutal. Glad Josh is the only small maker that makes things I'm interested in.

To this day I've never tried anything from Broughton... I quit even looking at what he's doing because of how ridiculous drops are, and I had thoughts last night that 3Leaf is becoming strikingly similar.

This. I wonder if there even IS a "max out" for Taylor? If he's taking paid preorders, he's got the money to get the parts, then he builds enough pedals for everyone. I was able to get in on the XeroD and Frantabit preorders without any stress. There's about a 4 month wait from preorder to in hands, but at least I know I can get them.

It seems like Spencer might be paying for materials out of pocket and then building the number that he has enough parts to make?

I think not worrying what's in your cart and finishing the purchase is more important and deleting the item in the cart. Plus, you can always message him after the fact if you need to change your order.

In hindsight, yes. But in the moment I think a lot of us were trying to respect Spencer's policy and to ensure more units were available for everyone else.

yah it's been removed/marked sold. Guy took it down or Reverb did. Dude's probably just going to wait a little longer to charge $1k for a new pedal, I hope they do somehow get their order cancelled.

I discovered 3leaf before I was using pedals from 2 dudes I know who use bots and scripts to buy everything from beer, watches, shoes etc etc basically anything they can make 35% to 100% or more profit off by resale. 50 pedals twice in less than minute tends to point to that apple pay aside. I stop trying to buy special releases of craft beer for this exact reason. I'm not willing to chase. Plus I spent enough time doing IT FOOLISHNESS DAILY to setup a scripts it's easy to do but I spent enough time scripting just doesn't mean enough to me.. I might try for a doom 2 again not really interested in the other pedals honestly. Filter & octave pedals are full of great choices that don't require me to chase.

Same here. 30 seconds not fast enough. $300 per pedal X 50 is $15000 in 30 seconds? It’s late here but if I’m thinking right , it was a good day for him. $60000 in 1 minute. Obviously, not all profit but still. I’m in the wrong business.

It’s actually $30,000 in a minute. Again not all profit. I am quite honestly very happy for Spencer. I love seeing people do well and be successful. Especially if they enjoy doing it. I will patiently wait for the next four drops if I miss out for the used market. If not then it’s not meant to be. It’s not like I really NEED any pedals. I have well over 100. Mostly stuff I’ve made myself look they still count.

I honestly don't see how it's possible to buy without a bot or Apple pay. Both drops sold out in 30s, and I can't type my details, and confirm the text code that PayPal sends me in that time (I don't want to disable that, it's saved me from scammers before).

I guess I can ask a friend with Apple to buy for me next time, but it's a bit frustrating to go through that.

I have Apple Pay and I still didn’t get one. Refreshed and started the process right away.

I even stayed up late (east coast, 2am) for the second release and didn’t get one then either.

Nope. I wouldn't dox somebody. It's not okay to publish someone's private information; everything I posted is public info, all readily available from the Reverb Store reselling that Doom 2.

I am not sure the customer base is THAT wide. My guess is that 300 units of each is enough so that most of us can get one.
Look. I got one. I am not buying the other ones in a different color. That's one less person you'll be in competition with next time. An I guess many of us won't buy all three colors options.

In other words, I guess next batches may be slightly easier to get. We may expect them to sell in 1 min or 2 instead of 30 seconds. We'll see.

I'm kind of wondering the same thing, I guess. I tried on PC because I've had experiences where mobile is slower, and my info is on auto fill and all I need to confirm is my CVC... and I also still didn't get one.

You might not, but the person posting the one on Reverb for $1k probably would. I guess the red one wasn't meant to be for me, but that's okay. Maybe the next doom drop will be gold. I think that'd look nice on the silver.

I'm just really crossing fingers that the Proton goes slower like someone else mentioned.
