Update :

July 4



DOOM 2 UPDATE: USA orders shipped out last week except for HIGH GAIN requests which are complete and will ship tomorrow. International orders will also ship tomorrow, except for the ones that requested a shipment hold.



ANIMA onboard preamp kits are back in stock.



The July newsletter email has not been sent out yet, so get on my mailing list if you’re not on it. Enclosures are still at the printer. Once they’re finished I will do photography and announce release details.



OCTABVRE circuit boards are behind schedule due to a manufacturing problem at the circuit board shop. I can get enough boards to build the ones reserved for international customers (those will be ready next month) but a full release will not happen until September at the earliest.

i got my doom2 today and cant be any happier. slapped it on the grab-n-go nano+ board and it just welded nicely tonewise and made the whole rig looked nice and neat as well… only had about 15 minutes playtime bec my shoulder injury starts hurting again so ill give it a rest for now and definitely will come back for more…

Wow! That's a nice board @darkhalf. If only Polytune would come out with a ltd ed mini in raw aluminum :cool:

Thank you sir. it does look sharp and sounded great too. maybe in the future ill get a peterson strobostomp mini its not aluminum but a little close to gunmetal finish and since its top jacks it will keep the gap tighter.

Slick looking board, they all flow seamlessly regardless of make, I like the aesthetic

I would have bought one when they came out if they had not done this. I think I saw someone post that the USB on top could be used for power. Of course this assumes you have USB power on your board (some power supplies do).

Thank you for that info sir. i didnt notice that. yep that will def leave a gap. wouldve been better if they put in at the right side so no gap betweennpedals if assuming the pedal is on that order.

Honestly, it's not as big of a deal to me as it initially seemed, for a few reasons.

I've become a little disillusioned with nano sized pedals lately, for the reason that I can't make full use of the space savings of a nano pedal. I cannot accurately stomp on switches when they're too close together. If I have to space the pedals farther apart to account for this, I've lost the space savings, thus defeating the point. I suppose nano pedals can afford slightly more flexibility if placing pedals in odd orientations, but this isn't something I tend to do.

For those considering an Anima preamp now it’s back in stock, I highly recommend it. I’ve just replaced the preamp in my jazz bass and I’m impressed by the results. I originally fitted it with the blue module, which was good, but I’ve settled on the red and that’s truly excellent. It’s somehow both thunderous and well-balanced, and there is plenty of scope to make adjustments. It’s just a really nice jazz bass sound.

In case it makes a difference, the preamp it replaced was a Fender American Deluxe preamp, so it was no slouch. I’ve also now changed the pickups for Lindy Fralin split coils and the Red Anima preamp sounds even better.
