First off, this is neither a solicitation to buy nor an offer to sell.
Serious question here. Imagine if a Doom 2 was listed in the TB classifieds for a friendly price of $350. What’s stopping one of the two TBers with lots of feedback who recently listed Doom 2s on Reverb at $875 (which both sold) from buying it here and then listing it on Reverb?
Online arbitrage happens with pedals, like lots of products. This may be a factor in TB prices. I’m not trying to shame or judge anyone. Sorry if this is coming off like that.

On a more exciting front, shipping notice received for the Proton. I thought I didn’t need down sweep in my life, but I was wrong. It happens.

This is why I never list items way below the market price publicly.
If you’re happy to sell a valuable item for what you paid for it, do it, but select the buyer beforehand.

It definitely takes some tinkering to get a usable sound out of. I like the IE Xerograph Deluxe better for my uses, but it's a different kind of envelope (low pass filter vs resonant filter)
The Chromatron requires you to play around the input sensitivity knob. Once you get the right spot, right before the peak, you'll be able to hear the bubble of the enveloppe. Set it so that, when you consider playing softly, nothing really happens. But when you play hard, you hear it opening.
That's the most important knob of the pedal IMO.
Once you're good, try a short decay (Try the knob at 10). Put the Peak at 3 to get a lot of resonnance and leave the tone at 12. Now you should have a pretty agressive and demonstrative enveloppe.
I am assuming these settings from my experience with the Chromatron. It's not hard to dial in, but you don't get an immediate bubbly enveloppe. You need to set it first.

People do develop reputations. If you go back a couple years in the Iron Ether Appreciation Thread you'll find some rather heated conversations (though the really spicy bits have been deleted by the mods) where this exact thing happened. The guy who did it was excoriated by TB once folks realized what was up, and people stopped doing business with him.
If your goal is to make a quick buck then there's nothing to stop you. But in the long run that'll hurt your opportunities to get rare and valuable gear. In my experience, when it comes to the nigh unobtainia, TB is all about relationships. You build trust with the folks. And then you mutually benefit as you both hook the other up, and facilitate trades, etc. The market for boutique bass pedals isn't very big so if you do enough business you'll eventually get to know most or all the regular players.
THIS. I also highly recommend that you start with the mix knob in the fully wet position (fully CW). don’t begin to blend your dry signal in until you found a wet signal that you like.
Agreed on the Chromatron.
But there's no mix knob on the Proton !

Oh wow, didn't realise that. I still haven't gotten any shipping confirmation for my Proton yet unfortunately. I wonder if I only just scraped through with the purchase, and I also wonder if international orders still haven't been sent?
Any of yall still rocking a GR2? First time owning one and it's been a lot of fun so far. Tons of usable settings and one of the fattest filters I've played. 250 in the loop is amazing for all the funky stoner rock vibes.

Isn't Spencer holding international orders so he can ship all 3 pedals to folks at lower cost to them? Given that, he's likely just not shipped the international Protons yet.
