To be precise, he did reply roughly a month ago to my very first email, which just said that apparently the package was lost, before I was able to get the UPS claim opened and so on. Nothing since.

I'm sure he'll get back to you eventually. You might have noticed there hasn't been much output lately (February release was pushed to March and now it's April). I suspect he's just focused on other things: new house, the outdoors, playing bass, etc. I get the sense that 3 Leaf Audio is something he does intermittently. That said, I understand your frustration and I am sorry your Octabvre went missing. I you get this resolved soon.
If you look at Spencer's recent few website posts, I am getting a sense of burnout:
There was a previous, now deleted post from a few days ago voicing frustration with global political events as of late, and another post saying he is considering moving away from 333 unit releases because he can't build fast enough anymore and it is simply too burdensome to sustain as a one man operation.
I've dealt with burnout before and it isn't fun. I hope he is ok.

I've had months like that. I appreciate the transparent communication, and I hope he feels comfortable cancelling/delaying the next several releases if he needs that time for himself.
Burnout, depression, anger at the current zeitgeist- throwing rocks at the Sun, it is hard to get your quon back when you’re in a hole you didn’t dig. It has to be difficult being a creative sort these days. I feel for the Spencers out there.
Check the dates on that post. 4/1, March has already passed.. 4/2 "ok, I feel better now.."

Not sure if it was an April fools prank or not... he had made a few posts earlier in March that gave similar vibes.
I didn't take it as a joke. I took it as an acknowledgement that March had ended without its scheduled release.

I have taken it off my board - I actually took everything off my board recently, I realized it's really heavy! (the board that is) Gonna rebuild, either using the board I have (though I noticed that's where a lot of the weight is), but I think I'm going to sell my Proton. It's pretty great, but maybe it's time to pass it on to someone else. I still have my Bootsy-signed GR-2, thinking of incorporating that next time...

For me the introduction of the MXR bass synth and now the Future Impact v4.5 have obviated the need for my Wonderlove and Octabvre to create synth-like sounds. I’ve sold both of them. I will keep my Doom 2 because it is a sublime and dynamic fuzz pedal that I can use by itself or after my synth pedals to add a little more harmonic content to some of the presets and bass. Anyone else moving in this direction?

I also love the MXR bass synth. It has turned some heads in my band (mine included).
I guess I like 'em both.
I took an even larger leap and sold all of my 3 Leaf stuff in favor of playing synth bass on an actual synth or synth pedals.
I do like both as well, but couldn't justify keeping all the synth pedals just to have them. I prefer synth sounds from a synth, but still have a couple of octavers to cop that sound when I don't have a synth in the backline or feel like loading my own out on a gig.Ehh...I love the Octabvre II / Doom2 combo for synth and distortion.

I'm headed in this direction as well. Could never get attack or release settings to sound right, so instead of emulating a key press with some compressor sorcery, I just press a key.
Not to say there isn't a role for these pedals to play, I'm just on a path to find the right tool for the job.
I’m looking to dabble in both sides of things. I sold a first batch MXR synth after a few days of ownership. Cool pedal and a great tool for the right player, but I personally preferred the tones and feel of the Octabvre/DOOM2/Proton for me. That being said, a Subsequent 37 will probably be my next big-ish gear acquisition and I’ve been having fun with some desk top Moog gear.
I’ve got a shed load of real synths but still enjoy grooving out with my PBass, a Doom 2 and a Broughton Synth Bass Deluxe. And for FM bass, IE FMeron.

Fair is fair, so I just wanted to post an update: Spencer sent me a replacement this week, which arrived yesterday, thankfully! So finally everything is resolved.
