3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

So, what does the collective think the odds are that the scheduled Doom 2 release in June will actually happen?

Just curious.
From the Newsletter: "Other News: DOOM 2 is delayed again. Supply chain issues. I wish this weren’t the case in 2026 but I don’t think it will ever not be the case again. The supply chain is an issue."

So I'm guessing, very unlikey, but he mentioned July in the updated schedule

Also +$55 for surgepricing... what?

Depends when the kid is born and how postpartum for the partner pans out.

I’d never bet anyone with a newborn to be independently productive in their first 6-12 months of that first kid.

That said, congrats on the kid if you’re reading this Spencer. Best and worst drug you can ever have. lol. Seriously life changing to have but I’d never undo. Kids are amazing perspective on life and give all sorts of purpose.

I experimented with the Darkglass/Korg Mood 2. It’s not bad for a synth fuzz sound. Better than most found in multifx units. However when I grabbed the Doom 2 to compare it served as another reminder that digital dirt isn’t quite there yet. At least not 1:1 copies.

TBF, the Mood 2 is serviceable on its own but I would’ve rather seen Darkglass’ take on their own version instead of trying to model one.

Straight up. Continues to be the absolute hardest thing I will ever do in my life, and also the most rewarding.

Yup! That’s why I made sure to snag one today. He said fall for the next batch, but that’s a stretch. I know my productivity was shot the first year or so of my firstborn. The next two my down time was way shorter.

I'm sticking with my MXR BOD (which comes in around 2:00), but I have to admit the Proton is pretty amazing!

I've probably posted this music before, but this is a different video edit and longer segment.

I've changed my board - trying to lighten it up, but also a conceptual re-think - and the Proton came off and went in its box. I want to put an envelope filter on, but thinking maybe my GR-2 - very different than the Proton - it will be good to experiment! Might even go nuts and put a fuzz in the effects loop!

Not sure how the GR-2 is going to help you lighten up the board relative to the Proton (I guess because it is bigger so it forces you to use less pedals? The aluminum enclosure does weigh less than the 304 Stainless Steel, but not by all that much), but this very swap is what I've done. The GR-2 is the best sounding 3 Leaf Audio filter in my experience: I've played the Proton MK4, Chromatron, Wonderlove MK1, and GR-2. The latter is the wettest, the funkiest by far, and the one on my board.
