A CALL FOR ALL LAKLANDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my 55-94, that i´ve owned for 2 years. It´s a fantastic bass that never stops to amaze me. This is exactly how a topclass 5 should feel and sound.

Wow, the version with the tortise shell pickguard and the pickup cover is absolutely gorgeous - and I don't even like pickup covers. Unfortunately for me I found out AFTER buying mine that my favorite look is a sunburst (standard or deluxe) with maple. I'd love to see some more photos of THAT combination. ;)
.

Thanks! The tort with cover is the look that I was trying for. I was real surprised that I liked the look with no pickguard and the cover in place almost as much. I'm considering getting a clear guard and changing them up when I want to change the look of the bass.

I've been told not many made, but I have a Skyline Duck Dunn PBass. It is one of the original ones, P neck, 3 tone sunburst, maple board, LaBella Deep Talkin Flats.
Love this bass :hyper:
I guess my "moment" was when I put the LaBellas on. I had roto flats on before. But the LB's live up to their name...Deep Talkin flats.
Does anyone know how many were made?.

Thats is one massively HOT bass ! :bassist:

Hey Major,

Why thanks!
I now own that USA Osborn....I just haven't had time to take some new pics of it. I actually replace the Stacked Knob control plate with a 3 knob Plate....I think it looks better.

Did you switch to the J-retro yourself? If so, how would you compare the tones before and after? I've got a DJ5 coming soon and was toying with the idea of maybe putting a J-retro in sometime later on...
Lokire,
Have you A/B'd the Osborn5 & Jones5? How would you compare their tones?

2003 Joe Osborn Skyline, picked it up used not long ago and I play it a lot more often than my other regulars. Time will tell how much I love it, but it certainly does have a The Tone for me.

Definitely looking into getting a 4-94 as my next bass, we shall see.

I should have a Dude Pit DPLE II (Skyline Bob Glaub with Darkstar pickup) fairly soon! :hyper:

hehehehehe!! MINE MINE MINE!!! Thanks Tom...She is a beauty...I got her a black cherry tort guard from Jeannie's (I don't order from anywhere else, Rodger has made about 6 or so guards for me now and does really first class work!) and it looks mahvelous...Sorry I tipped you to the DPLEII...I knew you would have to have one but it is a great bass! I got mine a couple weeks ago and she is HOT baby! Cross between a really Fat P Bass (with a Jazz neck!!) and a very aggressive chainsaw! What a devil she is...I have done a few rehearsals, a couple records, and 3 live dates so far and the last 2 live dates I did not even carry one of my Sads  Playing the DPLE through the 750/610 rig is just flat out F U N !!!:hyper: She will want flats when you get yours and I took the time to setup the balance of the Dark Star (using a DI into a console and the solo to set the pole height to maximize the gain AND to get an absolute even balance across the strings)...sounds WICKED on tape!!! Good luck with yours and don't let her make the rest of your harem jealous!! LOL!

Looks like I see my old Demeter DI too???? LOL!

Peace,

T

Does anyone on talkbass have a Lakland Decade. Everyone talks about how dreamy they are, then why the hell don't you post a picture!!! I called a few weeks ago about having one made in left hand and when I found out the price tag, I literally hung up the phone.
