By views, I mean pre-advertising pics, or to be more succinct, (pre-advertise with pics, or present pics), not opinions on how bassists allowed to test the products with instructions not to divulge the nature of hurdles that had to be overcome to get this close to product launch.
Have you actually read the contract between George and GC?
Everyone has an opinion, no one can censor that by 1st ammendment law.
Actually, non-disclosure agreements are standard practice in product development.

I am just relating what George told me, which was basically that his agreement was not to release any pics of finished products until final approval and the launch date, but I was free to express my opinions on the performance or share any suggestions I had about the new amps. I don't need proof to take someone for their word who after talking with him at great lengths I feel that I trust. He has re-united the very best designers, and they have taken extreme measures to assure the very best in sound quality, fit & finish, and reliability.
The goal is that once they are released, every professional musician that cares about their sound quality and wants the very best, will own one.
I, for one, can't wait! Mike

Just like people say in many other threads here.. No pics means No amp.. Prove it. Its real simple..

Even show me a pic of the shop with George and a piece of wood in his hand.. This is all hogwash..:rollno:

I don't know why George had the pictures pulled. But...
The current prototype heads have the Acoustic logo on the faceplate. The cabs have Acoustic badges and there are about 100 self-stick badges packaged in the shop. The OEM speakers all say Acoustic. Seems like an awful lot of money to spend to perpetrate a ruse.

Let me see if I understand this.
I take time to ACTUALLY VISIT George and play through his products and report it here. That's considered hogwash.

But pictures posted on the internet would be considered acceptable evidence?

Get off your can (and away from your keyboard). Call or visit George. See for yourself.

I thought I was being helpful by making the trip and reporting on my visit. Now my honesty has been questioned. I will not bother you people with any more posts in this thread.

I agree, besides George doesn't physically build the amps, he orchestrates the whole ordeal of getting the original designers and builders together to build the amps, and he finds the original suppliers for original and improved components based on the designers needs and requests, and gets them delivered. He has been doing this for the past 6+ years on this project, so be just a little more patient. There is still a pic up on the Acoustic Club forum of one of the new 360/361 amps and a new mini 15 in use, so go look instead of complain. Mike
Hey Ziggy, what's up. You must have been writing your post at the same time as me, Mike

i do believe that that is his goal, but who's to say that 'every professional musician that cares about their sound quality and wants the very best' doesn't already have an amp that meets that specification? i know that i do. ;)

When the first Acoustic 360/361pp amps hit the market, they set the standard for professional sound equipment with remarkable tone, quality, and the ability to project that sound deep into the audience.
The New Acoustic USA line will again set a higher standard than anything on the market, including custom made boutique amps costing thousands more, that most well known HI-End professionals are noted for using. Mike

well back in the day, i had a 361, and i also had an SVT/810, which for me, blew the acoustic away on all levels, so i have to take that statement with a grain of salt.

and while i liked the 361, i sold my 360 to Larry Taylor, and kept the SVT.

i still have two SVT's, but lately i've been using any one of these three channel strips as a preamp thru my accugroove cab with great results:

Now *that* is some damn fine hyperbole.

Until someone can exchange money or goods or services for this holy grail of amps, they (the amp/cab), for all intents and purposes, do not exist. While stories of people who have touched/played them are interesting, until it is a product (meaning I can buy one) is just a bunch of hype.

I'm not questioning the veracity of anyone here. Just stating a cold, hard fact. Doesn't matter if the amp is "coming soon," or even just breathing hard, if it ain't on the market, it ain't on the market.

If you are using an SVT 8-10 you probably have a good sound on stage. It's a shame only the 1st or 2nd row of the audience gets to hear it. SVT 8-10's are well known for not being able to project very far at all. My opinion is from reading about the experieices of many X-SVT 8-10 owners from professional musicians as well as want-a-be's on the Unofficial Acoustic Control Corporation website, who currently use old Acoustic amps, not from my personal experience. How much did all of your equipment cost, new? Can all of your equipment be considered true hi-fidelity? The new Acoustic power amplifier could and may even replace studio equipment in the future. It's that good. The original designers have been fine tuning it for years. Sorry, Mike

to me, that's total BS. never had a complaint about being heard anywhere in the room with an SVT/810 (or two), and that includes the LA Sports Arena gig that i played. and if the room is huge, you'll be using FOH anyway. i never could really hear the 360 on stage very clearly.

well that expalins alot.

i don't know about you, but i think Universal Audio, Focusrite and Avalon are and have been considered by most professionals, to be 'true hi fidelity'.

Considered to be, and to be rated as by specs, is totally different. The old folded horn Acoustics, 301 & 360, were not heard very well up close, I agree. This new 360/361 does not suffer from the same drawback due to the improvements that have been made. Like I said before, I am just relating what I have heard for years about the lack of projection that the SVT-810 suffers from, where the Acoustic shines. Acoustic 360/361pp amps were design to work in an era when there were no PA's amplifying the bass line, only vocals and guitars if even them, check your history books. Mike

What makes you think I am in the know? I never stated that I am in the know about amplification and sound? Are you reading things into my impression of what the new Acoustic amp sounds like? I am just an average musician that has been playing bass for years and have used a lot of different equipment in the bands I have played in for decades now, and am sharing my first hand experience and opinion on the new Acoustic line. If you don't want to know anything about what is coming, you should just wait for it like everyone else. It seems to me like you are just jealous that you won't be getting one. Mike

obviously you must have been out of the loop for a while. i said 'considered to be' to be conservative, and it appears that you have no experience with pro channel strips or mic pres. you might try asking a professional producer or engineer what he thinks about them.

and i have no need to check any history books. i've previously owned 361's, 371's and the 320/408 amps for many years.
