Anyone,

At the time of the New Acoustic USA launch, now targeted for December 2008, do they intend to open a new Website for information on their new product suite, where to buy, etc.?:hyper:

Also, Macmrkt lost me a little bit, did the original Acoustic Control Corp. actually make two different versions of the 126 (100W RMS, 15" Combo)? One with and one without the horizontal port on the front on the speaker enclosure portion of the cab?:eyebrow:
I just bought a 126 (ported front) and was curious if there were two versions or if perhaps he may have been refering to another similar model. BTW, it may be 30 years or so old but it's freakin awesome, even though it's currently loaded with an 8 Ohm 300W Eminence USA speaker (it could handle a 4 :D)!

I was kinda curious about a web presence to. I guess I should ask.

I bought an Acoustic 122 a few years back. Basically the 404 cab with the 120 head. It is the wide series. I loaded it with an EV Force 15 8 ohm speaker and it is killer loud and clear. I also added a speaker jack for an extension cab and put a 404 under it (8 ohm JBL D140). It is fun.

I would need check the products section of the Acoustic Wiki for the differences you asked for.

Thanks for the input. I did go back (again) (wiki and unofficialacousticcontrolcorp) to look at what info. is available on the ACC 126 (product library). Interestingly, on the B&W advertisement where they introduced the 126 as replacing the 136 (BTW, oddly could not find anything whatsoever on the 136!?!), they mentioned specifically not changing the cabinet and speaker in the new 126 (sort of "it's so damn good we can't make it any better!" implication) but they describe the new improved addition of the 5 band graphic EQ and keeping the amp at the Same Great Price. Wow,that would have been a lot of coin back then for sure, I think they were like $799.00 in 1980 or something, more than I spent for my first used car for sure. Anyways, my best guess is that they did not actually have two different cabinet types (ported and non-ported/sealed) for the 126 combo but chose, for whatever reason, to change the front grill cloth cover, perhaps to show the ported folded cabinet design, maybe save a little on production costs (kinda doubt that though) or better yet maybe to make the pop off grill cloth cover sturdier by keeping the covers wooden frame directly over it's pop-on/off attachment points. What I'm seeing is that in the catalog pictures, the grill cover covered the entire front on the cab. The one 126 that I have and the one shown in "real" (on a sidewalk, next to grass, multiple views) pictures there on the site only have the grill cloth covering the top 2/3's (approx.) of the cab front where the speaker resides. So I guess I answered my own question to some degree. If anyone knows more please feel free to share, although I'm realizing now that this is straying a bit from the thread topic:eek:, my apologies.

There was an 8x8 cabinet that they had been working with. It was originally designed for rock bass as an idea to make transporting stuff easier. The decision was that it did not really fit the "Electric Rock Sound" however lent very well to use with acoustic instruments.

I don't know what style you play - if you need a true "Rock" sound then one ofthe other cabs would be in your vein. If you are a double bass or EUB player - then maybe the 8x8 will be a nice item. Probably could pump you and an acoustic guitar through it and not even push it.

I hear that Acoustic USA may be hitting production in December. When the lines come out they may be willing to see if there is enough demand for stuff to go with the upright guys.

RCubed is probably right. Any stuff you see in GC now is not Acoustic USA and probably best fits another thread.

Interesting stuff. I play upright acoustic bass, mostly Rockabilly, so I am in both the "rock" and "acoustic" categories. :D Not an easy game, amplifying an upright at high volumes, but you gotta know the tricks of the trade. I have always liked the Acoustic stuff, and interested to see that 8x8 cab.

seems like its been a while since this thread was posted on....but what the heck:
To anyone out there who might know, what is the targeted price for the USA 360/361?
I'm looking at the B600h and 810 because of the price, but if the 360/361 isn't ridiculously priced ($2000+), I might just put off a new acquisition and save up.....so, any word on price listing will be greatly appreciated.

I think there are many of us who would love to know the answer to that one...360/361 price. I myself could not pass up the B600H though, it's awesome! I'm sure I'll have a major GAS relapse when the 360/361 USA Acoustic does hit the streets, I don't know the "when" on that one either. My advice would be don't go and try out the B600H and wait (hopefully you are not in immediate need for a awesome bass amp) because if you do try it out, my guess is that you will buy it like I did.:D

Yeah, thats a valid point Steve, beings as it will be American made. Thanks for the advice bassmore, its just really hard to get to a GC, because I live on an island, and its a whole day expedition to get to the nearest one (68 miles). But I'll see if I can get around to trying one out.

Does that mean you could but a sweet Acoustic stack, crank it way the heck up and just like go freakin' Bassalistic all night and day long? Awesome. Where did I go wrong?:D
