You look at lot better than me, man. We're the same age, but I look like I could be your dad.![]()
Sorry to hear that Beej. I’m 49 and could almost be twofer’s twin brother, except my hair is a bit longer and I have a bit of grey in my beard.

Maybe it’s time to start your own band.

Yeah, forming my own group is most likely going to happen sometime in the new year. Trying to do originals just makes it more of a challenge and the chemistry even more important, I feel. Only issue is finding a place to practice or reherse or otherwise deal with drums, haha. Apartment life is no fun...
Also, I suspect we're not too far off, life wise.... I mean, I'm a mid-30's mom with a fam just looking to play and make some heavy music. Surprisingly hard to do around here, but oh well.
Yep. Looks are a HUGE thing, even more so when it comes to cis-het normative relationships and behavior and jealousy and stuff. Its weird, I don't get it and it drives me crazy but it is a factor, esp when some degree of sexual attraction is involved.

Intentionally leaving out the dudettes? My "camp" for reference is 'I'm a dude, he's a dude, she's a dude, we're all dudes"

Hahaha. Thought never crossed my mind.Intentionally leaving out the dudettes?![]()
It’s ridiculous, but better that you didn’t get into the situation and then find out how childish they are. There are a ton of what if's i could have responded with but decided to just let em be, and I moved on. I've seen the attraction argument come up before and its always a damn frustrating thing because its BS.
Bleh.
Ok, can of possible worms time:
I know this isn't the topic, but, I felt upon reading this I need it explained to me. I don't doubt it is true in ways but in my experience it seems like looks matter to everyone. If you would be so kind, I am curious.

Life is just middle school playing out over and over and over again.
Pa...THETIC!So, I've been looking for a new band for a while now and its been a pretty frustrating fruitless endeavor for the most part as I'm looking for doing originals and in metal or even down to more chill stuff like hard rock or indie stuff. To say it tends to be male dominated is an understatement, Needless to say, lots of boys club type vibes from groups in this genre, this one takes the cake though from my recent experiences.
FTR this is a pretty huge bullet dodged in my book, if some dude is being this weird, well, about his gf or whatever then I'm pretty glad to not have to deal with that mess.
Meanwhile I'm going back to the search for non jerk band mates, wheeee. Luckily my wife has ZERO issues with me playing with random guys. LOLOL

Well said. The OP is a very attractive young lady, and that's a world of difference from traveling with another dude. Pretending otherwise changes nothing. We also don't know this man's past - his girlfriend may have every reason in the world to worry about him spending so much time in close proximity with such an attractive woman.Looks shouldn’t be a factor.
Looks are a factor.
