Aguilar AG 700 - 4 Ohm + 8 Ohm cabs - Does anyone run this combination?

I have an Aguilar AG 700 and a 4 ohm Aguilar SL 410X cab. This rig definitely handles most situations, but I have recently been toying with the idea of adding an 8 ohm SL 410X cab for my larger venue and outdoor gigs. The owners manual and Aguilar demo video for the AG 700 says that the amp can run 2.67 ohms when combining a 4 ohm & 8 Ohm cab together with the amp.
I'm just wondering if and TB users run their AG 700 with this ohm combination and what their results were. Do the speakers put out the same volume or does one work harder than the other? Does the amplifier get hot? ect...
Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Running the two boxes in parallel the 4Ω one will take twice the power of the 8Ω one. In my mind I feel you would be better off if you sold your 4Ω 4x10 and bought two of the 8Ω cabinets. The power would then be equally split between them.

I'm not sure why the would make the option to combine a 4 ohm and 8 ohm cabinet if they wouldn't level out the power handling of both cabs. But that's why I'm asking. Maybe they added a feature to the amp that evens things out??
I hate to sell my SL 410x cab because I bought it new and would really take a beating on it. Not to mention they ave very expensive, so I would rather just buy a 8 ohm cab if the power handling is even.

The power is distributed to the speakers based on their impedance, following Ohm's law.

There is nothing a single channel amp can do change this physical property.

So that said, do you think the 4 ohm 410 and 8 ohm 210 would be a good combination for an amp head that will go down to 2.67 ohms? Just trying to weigh my options to add a tad more oomph for larger gigs (no pa support) with out having to break the bank and change my current set up too much. Thanks!

Add an 8 ohm SL 210 instead. Even power distribution, plus the versatility of just using the 210 when it's all you need (rehearsals, small gigs). With the money you save you can buy a backup micro-head.

If the 410 is almost enough and you're looking for "a tad more oomph" this should get you there (I think you'll note a significant boost from the 210) and give you a small gig/practice rig (210) to boot.

Please post back how you like the combo (especially when you get a chance to open it up some).

Absolutely. I have an outdoor gig at the end of June. I'm planning on running the purchase by the wife when she gets home from work tonight. I can always tell her that it is a lot cheaper than another 410 - which is the route I was originally going to go with until I got some sage advice. If all goes well I will more than likely place an order by mid week. Even though my 410 is black I have my eye on the 210 in Royal Purple.
I put my Aggie Filter Twin pedal up for sale to take a little bit of the bite out of the purchase.

Try slipping the receipt for the 210 in with the groceries -- or, if you have kids, get it for one of them as a "birthday present".

It is cheaper than a 410, though. Legit point. As for purple-and-black -- totally your call!

The 8 ohm cab will be about half as loud as the 4 ohm cab. It might not make the difference you are hoping it would.

I think the 410/210 is a nice combo. Seems to me like a 610 with that amp could handle the biggest gig. I think you might also find that you can do a lot with just the 210. Really nice to have a small-medium-big option.
