It seems like most of these types of posts are really about boundaries for healthy life balances.
It's good to set boundaries.
It's okay to move your own boundaries if you decide to.
It's okay to stick with them.
Too often we see boundaries as a way of defining what is in them instead of a way of defining what we are keeping ourselves from going into. A Band is for enjoyment. Violating personal boundaries to go into something that is unhealthy is not being rigid, it is self care.
But others don't have to respect our life boundaries/balances. And they get to determine their own. If bandmates are truly friends, we can have this conversation openly and talk about life. If bandmates are merely coworkers, they aren't entitled to our well-being and it can just be time to move. With that said, we aren't entitled to their's either. It's a give and take. At some point, the give may be too much and that is okay.
But no matter what... openness and dialogue. Otherwise you will just be the source of discontentment among everyone if you are unwilling to name a boundary you set for yourself.
