At the time I saw it I knew nothing about Lovecraft or the story it's adapted from, and the common Lovecraftian concepts of parallel dimensions, forbidden knowledge, and cosmic horror were well-represented and still kind of new to me. Also, I think I was a bit buzzed and tired when I saw it which enhanced the effect and gave me some crazy dreams that night. The body horror is also always a good plus, even though the costumes and props are obviously lower budget.
Wasn’t that the same people that made Reanimator??

I *think* in parallel, but there’s feedback so then it’s a kind of twisted series. Someone dumped their Blackhole preset on the H8000 for me to a spreadsheet format and it’s 16 stacked mono delays into 8 stereo delays, all with short times in a specific ratio. The key parameters are time / “size” (keeping all they ratios intact), diffusion (I think this is “gravity” but idk), and feedback. It was fascinating to see it all laid out like that.
I love the Zoia for that. The ability to modulate everything around the reverb and do so with a sequence or random lfo lets me get into unnatural spaces that can feel creepy. The Zoia is also a nice option for many bass situations for the simple reason you can split the signal to deal with the low frequencies separately to keep things intelligible, which isnt always an option (as is may not be a need) for things designed more around guitar.

Isn’t that because Hainbach is a YouTube influencer with a dedicated following? I mean, I assume all influencers should immediately get off all lawns, but that’s why he gets all the comments.
