Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

I'm excited - got tix for Zombi (with OM) in October! I plan to go this time (I bailed last year due to a variety of factors, not least being pandemic related). Stumbled across this video - forgot he used a Ric on this album. Realized I need to start listening to them again to prep for the show (I prefer "knowing" the songs, unless they're brand new of course), bought this album (2020) on sale from Amoeba.

Steve Moore has been posting clips from the tour - it's just going to be the two of them - he said that the tour that was cancelled by the pandemic was going to have a guitarist - I'm glad they're not doing that!

It’s getting weird.

Rics can do a lot of things, but they do that like no other bass.

Take care of yourself
What was the gig?
A really good groove band with some top players up in Burlington needed me to sub, so I spent the last two months learning two sets of music, some of it pretty hard. Was going to open the door to more gigs. If I test negative by the end of the week I still might be able to do it, but man, the timing really sucks.

Other than that, not hitting me too hard, a bit congested, a bit unmotivated.

tbh, i’m still very wary of being inside without a mask. i often feel like i’m iut of place, but then i keep finding out that friends are getting it.
If it’s any consolation (not that I have the gig thing as I rely on my day job!) but I did the same… avoided it for 2 years, thought it amusing that all my friends were getting it but me… and then I jinxed myself and got covid recently. Only place I can think I got it was went to a new restaurant / saw a movie with the wife at a place we don’t usually go to… at wells.
Fingers crossed you make your gig

I only recently started not masking, unless in a larger place like a grocery store - I've been pretty diligent, if not excessively so. This turned out to be in a well-ventilated room with three people.

Turned the corner today, if I follow the guidelines and test negative, I think I'll still be able to do the gig. Masked, of course.
