Was waiting for this type of review for a long time... has me even more peaked! I love that this guy actually makes music with his reviews and not just squawks and beeps. I reckon the microfreak would be pretty cool to jam on live as extra bits to my band, especially with my bad keyboard chops!
Looping my Spector Euro 5 LX AW (Zombie) using the Empress Echo. I added a bit of Empress Reverb and a little compression and stereo widening in Ableton, but nothing too fancy.

Mmm not sure how it would “look” on stage, but always wanted a five string headless bass...messed around with one in a shop once and it felt pretty awesome
that beat though...I could get down with that. What a great challenge. That's the beat...make a track...GO!
Very nice, always loved headless/ svelt bodies for leaning over electronics/ double duty. Miss my original Steinberger for that. Interesting tracks, care to elaborate on what you are doing/ how you are treating the bass? The limited preview time blows, btw.

Nice pics. What are you doing for production? DAW for the synths/ beats? Triggering anything with the bass besides using the multi effects? What's your favorite patches? Plug ins?

As you can imagine it’s not easy to explain the whole process of recording and producing REbRO. At the moment using Native Instruments Komplete Production Suite and experimenting processing the basses through the vocoder of the of the Arturia Matrixbrute together with a Tech 21 Geddy Lee signature Sansamp ( a real trip )
It’s a very organic process, always changing and very complex. I will explain more latter ... An awesome weekend to all ~
That vocoder processing sounds rad- looking forward to hearing more on it, what you use to key etc. Beautiful set up, liked the little I was able to hear in the link! We are all about process here...

yeah, this one is high up on my list. I don't know much about the Meris MIDI, but can that thing be tamed where you can create oodles of presets? If so, that thing could replace a lot on my board...and fulfill some dreams I didn't know I had.
I know you can have 16 presets as you can with the Enzo. I use the Chase Bliss Faves right now which has 6 presets, but am going to switch up. All parameters are controllable via midi in these pedals, so using a host midi program like a DAW means as many midi control files as you can save are basically presets.
Spent the weekend on a deep dive of connections. I figured out how to use Ableton Live to send MIDI controls to my Empress Echo and Reverb. I figured out how to use the 0 Coast as a MIDI to CV converter and now I can use the Ableton Push 2 touch strip to control anything that will respond to CV, like various 0 Coast ports, or even sending the CV to my Dreadbox Nyx and controlling the filter or resonance with the Push’s touch strip.
I barely made anything listenable, but I successfully executed some proof of concept experiments.
One thing I found that confused me involved sending Reaktor Blocks sequencers to outboard MIDI gear. I already know that there is an issue and workaround for the sequencers going to sleep when you navigate to a different channel in Ableton. It’s annoying but can be dealt with. What I haven’t figured out is why if I use a Reaktor Blocks Quantizer for pitch values it also seemingly muted the velocity if I patch the Gate values through the Quantizer. If I bypass the Quantizer with values it works fine. There isn’t a Velocity control I see in the Quantizer (seems to only be for pitch values). My other option is to simply use the Ableton Quantizer on the channel so the MIDI from the sequencer still gets adjusted.
I love this problem solving stuff. I still need to get under the hood with ZOIA.
I did actually play bass too. I pulled out the P and made some less than ambient sounding noises. I’ve got a Night Owl Edison tube pre I run into a Germ Warfare germanium boost. I found that if I max the Edison’s volume it gets some decent distortion out of the Germ Warfare, which isn’t as dirty sounding as the name might imply...until you blast the input level.

Pace of this video is slower than I like, but man, I'm really thinking I want this new Nyx.
