Just for the record: I hate CCR. Always have. I think it's mostly Fogerty's voice that irks me...but tbh there's not a lot of room for swamp boogie in my musical sphere.
...so of course I'd be down to participate in an ambient post-rock CCR deconstructionist project!
My favorite CCR story:
~30 years ago my new-to-me girlfriend took me to a party hosted by one of her coworkers, and populated by mostly her other coworkers, and all these people -- and, in hindsight, my new girlfriend -- were absolute tools, the most pathetically preppy/poser shallow clique-forming zombies I'd ever encountered (...well, at least since highschool).
I was miserable making small-talk with these folks, and desperately trying to find a polite way to bail, when CCR's "Fortunate Son" comes on the stereo.
Someone in the room yells "GET THE OAR!"
And a moment later this one especially preppy/poser tool walks into the center of the room carrying a canoe paddle, and he proceeds to strut around the room playing air-guitar on the oar while lip-sync'ing to "Fortunate Son". It was like Bad Karaoke x100. All the party goers were enthralled. I was fascinated. This dweeb had no guile, no gumption, and, as far as I could tell, no sense of how completely ridiculous he looked or how mind-bogglingly absurd the whole ritual was.
I think of that guy every time I hear "Fortunate Son"
