I ordered a B-Stock one of these yesterday.
Nymphes B-Stock - Dreadbox Synthesizers

I'm still in the market for a semi modular at some point but I couldn't decide. The guy selling the 0-Coast locally wouldn't budge on the price and I'm not paying 82% of the price for a second hand anything on principal. I'd just buy a new one tbh.
That said, I'm torn between the 0-Coast and the Taiga. The Taiga has a lot more going on and seems the most sensible but I prefer all the demos I've heard of the 0-Coast?

Between the Taiga and the Nymphes I could see myself covered for synths for the next year or so. Maybe not with the 0-Coast.

Has anyone had any experience with a bit commander?

I have one pedal spot in my chain and it’s all I can think of to get a “semi synth” sound but also realise it’s basically like an octaver with a gated fuzz attached after listening to loads of clips… I’ve tried the usuals, sy1, bass synth wah, dirty robot… all has their issues..
I’ve got the jc fuzz wah that can get synthy sweeps but looking for something different yet fun and synthy as a set “tone” that can be altered… my board as it is now but I’m removing the curmudgeon for the fun pedal.

I've a DIY one which I built.
It's great. It's far more synthy than just a gated fuzz. I also have a mammoth and they don't compare.
I do only use the 1 Octave down though. It's a really thick Square wave fuzz tone. I'd a Data Corrupter for a while and preferred the Bit Commander. It's lovely with my OC-5 after supplying a cleanish octave down and up.

Edit: Actually it's all over this. On the Drum machine too.

I’ve personally never liked any EQD pedals. Tried about a dozen of them.
The Bit commander was a big « meh » for me, best you try before you buy.
They try to market them for bass also but imo, they fall wayyyyyyyy short on that.
Some of them are just plain aweful pedals, but hey who am I to say…..I’m a nobody.

I had the ehx oceans 11 and it ended up sounding fake and tinny on some settings after the honeymoon period wore off… for an ambient reverb slo has it in spades, the modulation is just better, easier to do the octave below in the back wash of the trails and can get “lush” or “creepy” depending how you set the shape of the modulation… I use it for creepy atm and if want a straight reverb just dial down the modulation and the octave dials :)

That’s an awesome track… reminds me very much of nine inch nails ghost - I to IV album in a great way

in the setup i use most of the time, most of the pedals are on all the time and i use expression pedals to blend effect/dry for each one (yes, i’m using 7/8 exp pedals and a volume pedal).

other setups that don’t have that exp capability get turned on/off at time of use.
