Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

i thought that was somewhat tongue in cheek.

what i dug about the interview is that lee's humanity was front and center.

I really like this interview. He comes across as a person from a time and place. And the Jewish stories makes so much sense to me (I was a teenage nerd Jewish prog rocker).

On the fence with Live 12 upgrade.
Other than the additional features, is the CPU management better ?
Is the latency still an issue (its been since the DAW exists, yes I know that)
In box FX have gotten better or pretty much the same?
Ableton delay, y’a Im looking at you!! Piece of garbage FX

thank you for any of your input.

I haven't worked with Live 12 at all. And just watched part of one video because I'm not a videos person.
I think the effects -- reverb and delay, and filters, have improved over the last versions.
I do not feel like they've totally fixed latency/plugin delay compensation in 11 -- as of now, Bitwig and Logic are snappier at the same settings.

it’s not out yet in its final form and i’m jot going to use the beta.

so no idea.

there are enough things that look really useful to me and the upgrade price now is cheaper than it will be next month, so i went for it.

How about in live 11?
I use so little of its capabilities I often think that upgrading for me is pretty useless.
Unless CPU management and latency issues have gotten much better as previously mentioned.
I tend to stack FX a lot.

No idea about 12. I’m not planning to move from 11 yet.

For delay, I recently started using the External Effect unit and it lets me use my favorite hardware delay.

I still use Live 9 and don’t feel as I need anything major.
Other than some in the box FX are meh, but that’s with pluggins exist.

one might suggest that the effects and so forth would be better in live now than they were in 9.

my biggest beef with 11 versus 9 was that the warp got “better,” which meant that the glitchy stuff (forced errors) i was doing doesn’t come as easily.

11 has convolution reverbs and so forth, btw.

12 is going to have a synth that does swarmed sines (etc.), which sounded pretty sweet. saying that even though i don’t use their synths for anything i do.
