i read some of the comments in a post about this. man, there are a lot of people with too much time on their hands and too much spite in their hearts out there.
If it wasn't for this thread I'd have probably never heard of him. I see a while back he made a video about the Moog buyout and I posted it here, before I knew any of this other stuff about him. That probably showed up in my YT feed because of all the synth vids I watch.
you are not. He referenced the pending reverb video in his “I’m done” video.
Last night at practice, as I was moving between my touch guitar, running through my carefully selected pedalboard, into my Orange TB500 and Barefaced combo, and my Linnstrument controlling my Micromonsta 2, I had a moment of thinking "wow, it's amazing I have all this really nice gear and everything works so well together and sounds so good."
Not saying I won't keep exploring gear but it's nice to have a baseline that works.
In related news, thanks to a thread on Lines (and my willingness to actually bite the bullet and "do it their way") I had a big breakthrough with Bitwig this week and feel like I have unlocked new dimensions of control to explore.

Man. Modular has really changed how I think about signal flow. I cracked open Massive inside of Ableton and started messing around with presets and midi mapping to macros. Stuff that used to make my head a seems so natural now. I understand what the macros are doing and why adjusting each one impacts what I hear the way it does.

A forum originally started by Monome but it's grown to cover (mostly electronic) music stuff in general. Heavily moderated and generally pretty friendly, and full of interesting creative people. Mostly.
Mostly thinking of that thread about Arius Blaze and the couple of people going on about how *mean* we were to him and the medical establishment can't be trusted, etc.
That sort of thing is relatively rare though and I prefer take the occasional dumb weirdo argument over MW's draconian "no politics" thing or KVR's 27-page long threads where 25 pages are just two people taking potshots at each other.

OMG I muted that one after said people started claiming to be victims because others objected to their eugenicist politics. Sometimes artist are profoundly stupid.
I only go on the Roger Linn forum on KVR — I think that whole sub forum has a smaller population than this thread. But Roger generally replies within hours to any query I have.

Any one here have any suggestions for a reverb pedal that doesn’t get muddy down low.
I have a composition that has tight dissonant clusters of chords down low.
Intentionally voiced lower to attain the “mood and tone” I want.
This part could benefit from reverb but atm I use delay.

I think muddy down low is par for the course. Maybe look for something like the Empress with an EQ over the lows, or there must be another box with a HPF control of the wet signal.
I know that its part of the deal , reverb down low on bass in inherently muddy, even worse woth clusters of chords but I wanted to ask the question anyways.
Hence my use of delay intead, it works awesome but somehow lacks « depth » since the section of the composition is solo bass and minimal drums only, they bands comes in.
Sorta goes from p to ff, we want to emphasize the transition of nuances to maximum effect.
(typing that makes me think that delay only might actually better in that sense…..)

I don’t use reverb very often, but when I do, the Helix models have been awesome. More than a few of them have a parameter to cut lows feeding the verb. Now with the new HX One you can get the models at a reasonable cost/size.
