I just started looking at it and the new Seashell. I have a Ts-L in the rack and considered getting a second one, but I'm not sure if I want the features of the bigger modules. I'm not 100% sure what I want/need out of a new module so I'm running myself in circles. I have some store credit burning a hole in my virtual pocket.
Edit - I think much of what I liked about the XPO demo was the Qpas filter being used.

I think the music market saturation has upped the “what’s the point” factor. I think 20-30 years ago it was hard to know how big the pool of bands was and you could convince yourself there was a way to “break through” and become visible. Now it feels so saturated because you can see/find a seemingly unlimited number of artists across various digital platforms and outlets.
Plus getting older seems to have drained my motivation and I suspect that’s a human trait most of us have. Time can wear you down.
I droned with the big euro rack and Terra through my Barefaced PA rig (two BB2 cabs). Nothing recorded or even worth sharing but it was nice to drone and feel things shake. I do like the Instruo Ts-L oscillator and maybe I just want a second one in the rack.
Drone Day - Round 2
Kept the eurorack drone patch I had going and got my F Bass BN5 out and tuned the drone to B. I routed the bass through some delay and reverb and with a little distortion and got some enjoyable results. I needed that.

the qpas is very good, imo.

the cs-l is more than two of the ts-l.
which ts-l do you have v1 or v2?
Assuming my Ts-L is v2. I bought it pretty recently.
I get that the Cs-L is more than just two Ts-L modules joined up. I’m just trying to figure out if I want to expand the sounds I already work with or dive into newer territory. The Cruinn is what started this because I’m not totally thrilled with the Chainsaw I have. Of course, stereo modules means stereo filters. I have a Nano Modules stereo filter but that Qpas might be more interesting.
Same here. I tried to do a one-take with bass and pedals, but ran into the usual problems.
For starters, the whole thing is noisy and slushy sounding. Hard to get a soundscape with clean elements.
And then there's the problem that I can't figure out how to make a loop on the looper pedal that doesn't have a very noticeable transient at the ending of the loop. Can't make it seamless. Sigh.
This is my biggest annoyance with using looper pedals. Even if the pedal is good, you still need a zero crossing point to get a clean loop for a drone.

Addendum
Ehx freeze and superego can drone
The freeze is a staple on my pedalboard
I could just use the Superego for a seamless drone, but I don't know if I can apply modulation to it. It does have a send-return loop which I never use, maybe I can run a phaser pedal through that.

I hope I didn't set a negative tone this morning - I'm gearing up to drone some more! Actually, last night was a great exercise - I turned the Grandmother on for the first time in months! And I think the tuning on my Sirin is wonky, gonna check that now. And if I can find my Woolly Mammoth I may have some fun with that and my Les Paul Triumph bass as the 4th oscillator...
I just load up enough asychronous layers to obfuscate the loop point
...also helps to have loopers with more memory time than the average listener's attention span.
I had a lot of "damn that sounds good" moments with stuff on the Make Noise YouTube channel and a lot of the time, QPAS deserved at least some of the credit. I've been using it pretty heavily since getting it a second time. I just have to think of it more as a thing that generates resonant peaks instead of trying to use it like a "normal" filter.
Today's Drone Day thing was track 4 on my project, so I ran with FM and no delays/reverb. Serum 2 can do some crazy FM thanks to some wider choices for unison detuning. I'm not even going to begin to guess what kind of chord it wound up creating. But overall this track was calmer and less chaotic than the others have been so far, mostly because I was thinking drones.
