I just use the Buchla by itself. Mine has no midi at the moment.

This hard limitation is both a blessing and a curse. I don’t have to worry about what other synths or programs to use with it because I can’t easily use them.

So I just switch up the effects pedals and keep looking on the used market for used modules to fill out my case.

If that would stop you from recording then that is a problem. Otherwise I think anything that streamlines the recording process and makes it effortless is a big plus.

Sounds incredible, but that price is wayyyyyyy out of my league.

I got a cheap battery powered AM/FM radio yesterday to use as a sample source though......price....0$

It is expensive but the clone modules are significantly cheaper than the 200e series. Like half the cost.

FM radios are a lot of fun to mess with. I like to tune them into apocalyptic Christian radio broadcasts and get some freaky religious babble happening.

Ha! I used to own a small commercial studio. When we closed it down, we sold most of the gear, but I hung on to those pres and a few nice mics. Didn’t figure I’d miss much else, but now I wish I would’ve hung onto the Chandler LTD, my Manley Reference mic and the TubeTech CL1B. Probably a couple other things...oh well :)

Did you shim your pneumatic desk with 4 Klon centaures?? ;)

What mics did you keep??

I sold my entire collection (versatile, yet very "affordable" collection to finance my last bands first "major" release......HUGE mistake on my part.....damn I miss my pair of 421, sm7 and my beyer m88....)
Definitely one of the DUMBEST things I’ve ever done.......:banghead:

From the studio, I kept my AEA R84 and two EV RE20’s and an RE28. I love and use all those a lot.
I’ve since added a Stager SR3 (amazing ribbon mic) and some Avantone ribbon mic that is surprisingly nice for the dough

I'd love a Quantum, too, but 4k for a synth is outa my range.

The only mic I have worth bragging about is an AKG C414 EBS. Sweet mic.

I can still return it. I’ve been going in circles all day with this stuff. The API/Lynx combo sounds fantastic, but the Lynx kinda sucks at being a mixer and the API’s don’t have pads, so the eurorack stuff comes in too hot. The Soundcraft is way easier and more fun/musical to sort all my electronic gizmos and sounds great while writing, but recording via its USB sounds nice, but not as nice as the Lynx. I’ll very likely return this mixer and get a fully analog mixer with direct outs, I’m thinking
