I can still return it. I’ve been going in circles all day with this stuff. The API/Lynx combo sounds fantastic, but the Lynx kinda sucks at being a mixer and the API’s don’t have pads, so the eurorack stuff comes in too hot. The Soundcraft is way easier and more fun/musical to sort all my electronic gizmos and sounds great while writing, but recording via its USB sounds nice, but not as nice as the Lynx. I’ll very likely return this mixer and get a fully analog mixer with direct outs, I’m thinking
There is a recent thread on muffwiggler about mixers. The general consensus seems to be that there isn’t any medium-sized high-quality mixers on the market that don’t cost as much as a car. The closest one looks to be one of the SSLs, but they have issues as well.
Since you have champagne tastes in converters you might have a hard time finding a satisfactory mixer.
How about some new preamps with pads? Or DIY some pads?
