So you have a bricked particle and I have a noisy defective Tensor.
Yeah, the retailer would not help (may they %^&$%&* off).....so now I’m waiting on red panda to listen to the %^&^%^ audio clips I made of the issue.

I found a link to a live show I did early in 2019, seems like a million years ago. This is a live version of a piece I called "Study of Chaos". No bass, but I did use my kid brother's old 80s Casio keyboard as a Mellotron stand-in; I think I ran it through a reverb pedal. I recall it is a bit of a pain to get into the mix right for some reason, but it sounds really good in this recording. This is one of my performances I'm kind of proud of, I don't think I screwed up and the sound is good.

Thing about that Casio is that is fully polyphonic and I figured out you can tune it using a recessed knob on the bottom of the unit. It's a bunch of presets, most of which sound pretty cheesy, but there are 2 or 3 usable sounds, and I used the flute sound for the Mellotron effect. No envelope control, though, and no velocity control. 1/8" headphone out jack is what I used along with an adaptor cable to get the signal into the guitar pedal, which I think was a reverb. Whatever I did I managed to give it some spacy sound and hide its "Casioness".
It's also WAY cheaper than a real Mellotron or any of the electronic versions of the Mellotron out there, plus it was just sitting in my mom's closet for years so it's a nice rescue instrument.

I feel you...I thought I bricked my Cloudy the other day doing the update and then I just kept trying and eventually got it into boot mode and it took the update.
You can actually put an empty preset or a bank of empty presets over the banks on the hydrasynth. I got mine 2nd hand and I wanted to clear out banks D and E and found a way to by searching the facebook group.
@ugly_bassplayer there's also a red panda facebook group you could possibly post to and maybe find a way to fix it? I checked mine and I don't get any clicks. What's the use case?

Dang. My tremolo function isn’t functioning. Already messaging Leccy for guidance. Hope there’s an easy “non shipping” solution.
More reasons for me to avoid anything that requires software updates or external support.
I have always had good experiences with them. Fingers crossed they do right by you.
Oh yeah, there are a few pedal companies I dig that is more of a "journey" than a final product. Red Panda is one of them. I find the final product worth it...though I've never had any of the issues Ugly had. Early release Red Panda stuff is ALWAYS buggy AF.
I've been "beta testing" Windows for MicroSoft, at my expense, since 1995, and they still haven't gotten it quite right yet. XP was close, but then it got worse.
Before that I used DOS and while it was less convenient it never required an update, certainly never forced one, and never ever failed.

I did that, I've spent the last 3 hours deleting presets. I can't believe you can't delete a patch on the synth itself, it's as though they designed everything else so well and just forgot this.
Yeah, I couldn't get the Particle to update before so they sent me some bootloader. The bootloader installed, but then it froze up on the update. Thankfully, it's not a pedal I use a lot, but it still sucks, as I have barely had it.
I normally wouldn't have bothered with the Particle update, but it added TRS midi. I hope that Red Panda fixes it.
