Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

I was getting worried that i'd need to find some of you on other platforms.

This is it for me, I'm not on any other platforms. When I did a search to see what was up, one of the hits was to a facebook post. I don't use facebook but the little half-sentence preview in the search results said something about server fire outage something so I guessed the rest.

Only stuff I did is more experimental musique concrète type stuff.
(Here comes the $$!!)

My yamaha 76 pbass neck is dead.
(Meh shizz happens, still have all the parts)

And I realized (again after closing the subject 10 years ago) that split coil jazz pickups are not for me. They always sound "weird".

how about the stacked hum buckers?
Haven't heard one I liked.
Seymour, Aguilar, delano, nordys....barts
..the list does one.
They all.have an "imbalance" between strings. (Might be my brain aging too fast)
Any suggestions?

Closest ones I had where the Fralins. I had to have em for gigs, school amd teaching.
Going from top 40 to Mike Stern to days of wine amd roses with one bass ftw!!!!

But they always had sort of a wet towel muffled effect on higher notes.

I don't need a Digitone.

Digitones are awesome! Nearly got one, but I’m over the moon for the Kodamo EssenceFM. Was more voices and easier to program. You miss out on the Digitone sequencer that way, but I just sequence it with my Octatrack

Got an email about packs for Arturia pigments... still haven’t even fully explored the base presets hah

looking at resetting up my board to be a bit more like a “bass station” would be - overdrive (my normal tone anyway) into sy1 then into dirt then chorus and reverb... just have to watch the volume boost of it all but it’s my fav type of tones - band next week so I get to see how all that plays through an amp abs at high volume!

Over Easter weekend while hiding from my family in a small bedroom at my mom's house I recorded what I think is a cool synth track but I haven't uploaded it yet because I want to make a decent video for it. I am kind of giving up on Soundcloud lately, what with the imposed limits and the fake account bots and so on, so generally youtube has been my outlet. But that means I feel obligated to make at least a token effort on some visuals.

Are you telling me curvypromogirl69 wasn’t really waiting to click on my latest post and offer to share it with her 674,000 followers for free?

My favorite is when I upload a 15 minute long drone synth track with no beat whatsoever and 10 seconds after it's uploaded PlayaDJ69 leaves a comment that say, "Sick beats yo! Check out my channel!".
