Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

A guy with those tattoos and stickers aren’t a surprise ;)

What’s on floor in the background on the left? Is that a bottle of good flake nail polish?

no.

it's a small japanese-style scrub brush made of some sort of plant fiber. it's excellent for creating textures by rubbing it on the strings, etc.

Ok, I’ve got dad brain remember.......!??!?!
Ive basically dropped 70 IQ points in 8 years. I can barely read now.

:roflmao:

Ha!
It’s not a big hook part of Over the Mountain. It’s a bass part too, so you’d have to be an Ozzy bassist fan to even have a clue. I transcribed it to midi and thought “what will I ever do with this weird part?” I guess the answer is slow it down, pitch it up, and run it through the 0 Coast with some effects.

Sorry, big Sabbath guy, Ozzy solo.....not so much.
Had the chance to see Sabbath live a few years ago during the last tour. It was quite a good show in fact, very impresssed Ozzy was on point in that show.
Only missing member was Bill Ward but the drummer was Ozzy’s solo band drummer and boy did he kill it. it was heavily Ward drums filtered though his own thing.
added bonus: they played ZERO songs off the horrible last record (it sux b@llzzz)
. All stuff Fromthe first 5 Sabbath albums.

I don’t know how Ozzy started working with Post Malone, but it makes me feel confused, like I’m in the matrix.

Post Malone’s music isnt my kinda of stuff but the guy seems really nice, genuine and down to earth. Must be a really cool hang.
I was VERY VERY impressed by his Nirvana tribute.
My kids love his song from the Into the Spider verse movie.....so .....I’ve heard the sound track about 1 million times. The movie is freakin awesome, but I’m a huge (really huge) Spiderman nerd, so I was sold before even seing it. Very nice way to introduce Miles Morales to a new generation of kids.

I don't think i spoiled the track from a day or two ago (which means I probably did and forgot). Same points deal if you spot the riff. There's two mashed up in that one. Bonus if you can ID the samples :)

The PM project is a cover/sample based thing, so no original material will likely ever come out of it, but I will mangle what ever I can. Lately I've been fascinated with the idea of creating a musical "Steven Wright" joke, which is what motivated me on these last two. Nothing lengthy, and not a lot of moving parts. Something that is kinda familiar but with twist.
