Well, it looks like some signal patching and brain work might just make this Malekko VCA work after all. I just need to make sure it goes before the Polivoks VCF not after. I’m figuring out a few creative ways to use it to mix signals from multiple VCO outputs. It also plays nicely with the Erica Octasource, which I’ve been struggling to find a place for in my system. This might be a keeper.

VCA before VCF is great for lots of things.

Expression Ramper allows you to pick two expression settings and move between them, either in one motion or as a continuous LFO activated by a footswitch. The mini enclosure size takes up minimal space while creating new sounds out of any pedal with an expression input.


Expression Ramper features:

  • Triangle, square, and one-shot shapes for movement between A and B expression settings

  • Rate control to set the speed of movement

  • Footswitch activated motion to create modulated effects on the fly or ramp between two presets

So I had the desire to wear bread, and I can't explain it logically, but it was just a feeling---maybe I wanted to return to the womb? I don't know -- I just had this need to wear bread. I also was doing a lot of research [and what came together] was an image -- a breadwoman -- a woman so ancient that she lives outside of time.

What have I uncovered?

hahahaha

you've uncovered my friend anna. we did a bunch of duo gigs. have one full cd. improvy stuff . . . not the bread woman persona, but she's wacky and sings in her own made-up language.

l.a. girl, lives in the fairfax area.

I knew someone here would know.
I wonder if I’ve met her before. She’s pretty close to my stomping grounds, but we’re a few years apart

possible, she's pretty memorable in her quiet eccentric way.

she also play toys.

she does a really nice duo thing with jorge martin, who does synth stuff, but always comes with a different rig . . . a lot of modular stuff, but also wacky stuff and does a lot of live sampling and mangling of anna. unfortuantely, i couldn't find any on youtube . . .

Quick post of an idea - recently been recording little videos, partly inspired by Damian Erskine's Bass Education community, like this one:



Just little improvised snippets, sometimes with different effects, or Moog bass underneath, etc. One person commented, "I could listen to that all day" - which made me think - that would be a cool project - different atmospheres, with bass as (one of?) the main instruments. Thought I'd share here, then had a brief thought, "hey, shouldn't give my idea away!" with a following thought, "Of course I should give my idea away!" In fact, it could be the basis for a collaboration - one person record a "background" or just something that someone else overdubs something on top of, then continue past it into a new background/base that the next person adds to. Doing it by myself actually sounds more manageable lol!

That has actually been a long-time idea for me - an ambient project with bass as one of the main elements - but I have never taken the step to try and make it happen. That's partly why I'm interested in the DFAM/Subharmonicon combo, to begin making some of these "backgrounds" - or maybe I should call them bases? Though of course anything can serve.
