Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

I just wanna hear some of your new work.
When ready of course.

Now where's that easy button???

slogging through.

i was doing pretty well and then the poopie hit the fan and it's been harder to do the work. last 5 months have been bleak.

practicing. compiling sounds, learning new stuff. maybe starting to get some traction.

Seems like I used to like Perfect Circuit product demos, but it’s been awhile.
They make the new Buchla 208c sound like an overpriced toy. Heck, maybe it is, but I remember hear demos that were a lot more impressive

they’re probably trying for a specific demographic with that one.

maybe you’ll like this one better?

It it isn't me cuz I haven't found the right staircase to throw metal crap down with distortion.

Okay, now I really have to go digging through my old cassette tape archive...because somewhere I have a piece I recorded circa 1980 where the percussion part [sic] consists of throwing metal crap down a staircase.

And everything I ever recorded at that studio wound up being "with distortion"
...sometimes even intentionally.

We're recording vocals right now. It's a good take. Then I'm like "hmm, wouldn't this be better with distortion?" And . . . it is!

In other gear news, I just ordered a couple Nordstrand blades to try with my touch guitar. Gotta see what's possible and if I can tolerate single coil hum for the love of tone.
Not distortion but I really like the saturators in Ableton.

My 2 basement dump studio cents.
