Yes, it's good. we're using Logic, which also has decent distortion plugs, but I'm using SoundToys Decapitator. We were just talking and agreed that "we can all come together around Decapitator."

We're recording vocals right now. It's a good take. Then I'm like "hmm, wouldn't this be better with distortion?" And . . . it is!

In other gear news, I just ordered a couple Nordstrand blades to try with my touch guitar. Gotta see what's possible and if I can tolerate single coil hum for the love of tone.

Love Decapitator! Use it on vocals a lot. I also keep Devil-Loc on the drum buss. Soundtoys stuff is really good. Logic’s bit crusher is nice too, I think

I ordered one of each, will sell the one I don't keep (a little loss for a little knowledge is ok). Adrian thought the Zen Blade might be too "polite" for me. We'll see.

4 string passive, all satin with maybe a color stain.

Okay, now I really have to go digging through my old cassette tape archive...because somewhere I have a piece I recorded circa 1980 where the percussion part [sic] consists of throwing metal crap down a staircase.

I was playing a giant pile of oscillators -- 6 or 7 GenRad square wave oscillators and 3 Hewlett-Packard sine wave oscillators all in a 6' tall rack with a custom passive mixer, all cobbled together from military surplus parts -- and my friend Geoff was throwing trash down a concrete staircase, and also playing alto sax from the opposite end of that staircase. Assembled on a 4-track 1/2" deck.

Clearly a labor of love. I think a lot of the music I was making in the very early 80s was created expressly to thumb my nose at my Berklee professors. Ah, youth...

I had amazing time trying out Pochard's Bear in Blue distortion/fuzz thingie with prototype delay and prototype LFO-pedal. Bear in Blue takes CV in and has an expression pedal option, so there was aöot of fun to be had. With the auxiliary lfo and expression I could add alot of movement to slow bass lines.
Definitely check out Bear in Blue by Pochard!
