it seems like no one understands how to present an instrument as a blank slate, or a Palette of Potential® ...instead it's their opportunity to wank aimlessly and/or fire off their favorite licks. Hey Doogie, howzabout playing some whole notes? Or simple walking quarter notes at a modest tempo?

Anderson Music in the UK did a Rickenbacker bass demo a few years ago where they wanted to show off the stereo feature. Instead of using the stereo output, though, they used the mono output and split it with an effects pedal. Unbelievably ignorant. The two guys doing the demo were both guitarists, IIRC, and nether one of them could be bothered to figure out how the bass works, which is extra stupid because Rickenbackers actually come with an instruction manual.

To top it all off the tone they had was effects-laden and horrible sounding.

Wondering if that's being discontinued.... it's on sale in several places, and Sweetwater says they no longer carry it.

Might be cool for a first synth pedal, but having a C4 and an Enzo, it doesn't do anything that I can't already do.

Yeah, I doubt it will do anything I can't already achieve with the C4, but I have no self-control. Also, it may make for decent trade bait down the line.

gawd, so tempting... but since I already have three other synth pedals it's not really high on my lust list, and besides, no continuously-variable non-quantized pitch control for the Tuning Interval parameter? They're dead to me.

If I was to make a demo, I'd play whole notes. Mostly because that's the limit of my capabilities, though
