Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

most boring question in months…..
what gigging tuner are you guys using?
may need another one for my sub gigs.
Boss tu3 bright enough..?

i’m completely in anti gear mode, thus me not posting much I guess. cost of stuff is now above my head, looked to get a spare amp, nope….not happening.
guess i’ll borrow whatever is available atm, punk ftw

add to that having zero time for my solo crap with sub gigs and all. not like i have any deadlines with that.

I'm still beating up an old Korg Pitchblack, but I haven't been on a stage with it in ages.
I kinda lust for a Peterson Strobo, but it is a low priority.

same my main board has a beat to crap pitchblack amd my sub board has an older kprg dt10 but its wayyyyy too big and the pitch lighting is really wobbly. its in 10cent increments but the tuner is 1 cent sensitivity. how dumb is that
guess it will have to do for the next 2 gigs this week.

Korg pitchblack. Works for me, though I’m more of a headstock tuner user these days. Haven’t tried it in the sun in years though, and can’t remember. That’s always my test for pedal visibility.

No need to apologize for not being gear obsessed. Probably healthier. But we need you to stick around for the memes, especially the guy jumping out of a building one. Prices are through the roof for stuff, though. Especially in Canada right now. I’m on a simplify (ok, not that simple) and leave it alone trip, myself. Working pretty well so far. It hasn’t totally cured my GAS but it’s, well, simplified it.

I’m always around don’t worry
;)
I guess I’ve been overly busy in the last weeks also.
Sub gig sucked all my time, now that the tunes are set things will settle…. I hope.
In the past, that gig would have been set in 2 days, now……ouch I barely have any time

maybe not much new or recent gear has poked my interest???
Soma label also rejected my stuff, meh no worries, forward we go.

two bass players, drums, vocal.

kinda cool

It's like a Japanese Talking Heads that were signed to Ralph Records. I dig it. A lot.

this is just one example of them live
They have an incredibly diverse discography.
From sludge doom to rock to psychedelic to more pop stuff.
Wata absolutely slays on guitar

Caught them when they played all of Pink in 2016. Absolutely rawk.

Love love love this band. Only time I ever saw them, they played an entire set of heavy drone stuff I had never heard before until the closed with Farewell off of Pink. It wasn't what I was expecting or wanting at all, but it was still a spectacular show.
