American Standard Jaguar Bass

I almost was able to forgo my maple neck bias.

Instead I ordered an American Jag body and an American Select Precision neck from Stratosphere, I'm building a bit of a hybrid.

I'm waiting for a new pickguard and strings to bet here. Mine should be up and running next week, so you will beat me to the punch. :D

Congrats!

By the way, Pickguardian now has a template for this pickguard if you decide that you want to try a different color guard down the road.

dude i so want pics of your project once complete. thanks for the info on the pickguard as ill def be ordering one!

I've owned two of the MIJ Jaguars. Great instruments. I might try to fit it with a P-neck if I can get over my love if the matching HHR headstock! I'm eager to get my mitts on one of these to see if the hum and neck-dive have been addressed at all. And a non-gloss neck would be great, but it's nothing a scotchbrite pad cant fix!

i love the gloss man lol. the main reason i even ordered one is my fond memories of having a MIJ jaguar. sure i wrestled with it a lot as far as hum but man those were some good memories once i got that one all souped up!

Hellz yea mang. My first one was shielded and modded a bit. Then a housefire killed it. The replacement has stayed un-modded. But man, all those tones... and it always gives me that Fender sound when I need that itch scratched! It sure can make a zillion sounds. I wish I liked a jazz neck more... I should dig that Jag back out and see how she feels today!

a jazz neck would be ideal, but ive played nothing but my p-bass lately so should be nearly identical :)
