The head has only been out a couple of months. Seems a bit too soon to speculate...
I'm surprised you did'nt need a buffer for your upright pickup. Do'es the Ampeg have a 1meg or higher input? That would be great if it had a 10meg. I use a b100r with my upright and it sounds ok plugged straight in but much better with my fishman pre/di set to pre eq then into the amp.
Really glad some positive reveiws started pouring in on these amps.

I have the pf350 so no compressor for me. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just go get the 500 so I have the overhead.
I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a solution for the clipping issue that's been mentioned in this thread. I bought my 350 a few weeks ago and practiced with it twice. Last night was the first time I had to contend with the amp cutting out on my when I hit the bass kind of hard.
I don't believe the amp's cutting out for thermal reasons; mainly because it's not getting warm at all, and a thermal cut-out usually takes more than the couple of seconds it took for the sound to return.
I really like this head. It sounds great and I love the size. I only want to use if for practice and for smaller gigs. I guess I'm unsure if it hit its limit, or if I just need to keep tweaking the knobs.
Was anyone who mentioned having this problem able to resolve it?

I know it sounds way to easy, but I think his point was to make sure the new jacks were making good contact with the plug. And it sure seemed to do the trick for me
I've been messing with these things since 1964 and I never heard of such a thing. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention.
