Ampeg Rocket Bass Combos

Thanks for this. Actually much the same Character/Mid setting I use, which pretty much determines the voice of this pedal give or take. Bite off, speaker sim off? Amp flat with no SGT?
Yeah if the VT pedal is on I turn everything flat and off on the amp. No bite or sim either. I’ve found I can turn the drive and character up a bit higher with my jazz bass than I can with my stingray. These are just the settings I’m trying out biased towards the bridge pickup on my jazz.

Ahh I see. This is what I came up with passive Precision. Bite on, Sim off. I prefer the high mids from the Bite to the treble from the High.

But we are hijacking an amps thread with effects talk.

Tele, how much longer are you waiting? I could’ve had a 115 delivered today had I chosen it. zZounds has had that model available for the past two weeks. I bought the 112 and it’s coming, supposedly, at the end of the month. I’m in no hurry.

Say, keep this news here on this thread. I’m gonna wait to tell the CC. Thanks!

Update!!! Spoke with my sales engineer Lindsey Becker- RB 115s are IN!!

Explained my absence, and SW will ship Friday 18th...I arrive back on 21st (Monday night) so should arrive mid week or so as a welcome home package!
A week in Boston and Cape Cod should keep me pleasantly distracted! “Duck” boat tour of city and river booked- visit to USS Salem (only preserved heavy cruiser) booked, may be lucky enough to visit USS Constitution and the battleship Massachusetts (BB59) with our 6 and 9 year old boys! And a lot of fried clams planned as well!!! (They don’t travel...:rollno:- got to get ‘em fresh!)

Hopefully catch some Cape Cod baseball while we’re there as well- Whew!

Sounds like quite the trip and then you’ll have something fun waiting for you upon arriving back home. Can’t beat that with a stick. Congrats and have a wonderful vacation!

Thanks! It’s been two years since I’ve gone anywhere further than Phoenix...

I’d say you’re ready to take off then. My RB-112 is slated for a June 26 shipping date. I’m feeling more like July, but who knows? As I mentioned, I’m not in a hurry and it’ll give me some time to sell a couple of amps in order to find space.

I just bought a Broughton HPF pedal and it’s like buying all new amps again. A huge difference in tone when the mud is cleaned out, mainly my Rumble 100 combo. Still, I’m looking forward to the new Rocket Bass as much as you are to fried clams!

How is that POD Go?
To sum it up– it is everything that I need. It’s everything I wish the Boss GT-1000core was. I got the Boss last Christmas for myself but returned it after finding it too complex for my liking. I am not an effects user, even when I was a rhythm guitarist all throughout my gigging “career” in 5 years at university.

The POD Go is super straightforward. No manuals necessary. Great amp sims, great cab sims, great effects (remember these are all Helix effects and simulations). Only downside is there’s not enough cab sims. A third party IR merchant should do the trick since it’s possible to load your own IRs into the POD Go.

But I digress... I’m super excited to be able to play with an amp again. I’ll actually be bringing my own bass (gasp!) to the shop.

My currently room practice combo is Tech 21 VT200 combo which I bought it home after side by side compare to Ampeg Micro SVT on 2018.
Will give a try on new RB112 and 115 once available on my local GC, since both sound really nice Ampegist tone on YouTube demo.
