Rotos 77 are very stiff. I you like flats, try GHS Precision flats, my #1 choice, stunning tone, I have them now on my L2500 and my ASAT Bass fretless, or d'Addario Chromes (on my SB-2 and on both my Fender AVRI '62 P and J). With more money, Labella Deep Talking or TI JF344.

Thanks. The color on the build sheet says Transparent Red. The neck is #8 12 1/2" radius. It is a dream to play. Stayed up way to late last night. The pickups are seriously hot. For my P Select, I had the amp volume (Fender Rumble 25 v3) at 12 o'oclock. Had to crank it back to 9. The empress wood body is really light. I forgot to weigh it in, but I'm guessing only a little over 7 lbs.

Beautiful!! G&L makes some of the most gorgeous "traditional-looking" basses out there. And yes, these were the hottest pickups I've ever had. Here's one I used to have.

If money were not an object, would you go with the GHS or the Labella flats? Yes, the Rotos are stiff, but they do punch.

Indeed, I've owned a number of SB-2's, all great basses! ...and my '89 3T SB "Fender Sig" maple-neck model is my current #1. I've never felt the need for the 2T mod, but I can see how others might. In any case, the edge-mounted jack seems definitely like the best and most elegant solution for it, unless you're a fan of stacked knobs (I'm not).

I did not like flats on my SB-2. For whatever that's worth. I now run half rounds on it, but I also run them on my L2000 and my jazz...

This is easily the lightest and among the best basses I have ever had my mitts around. It is up there in fit, finish and playability with the Lakland 4 strings I have owned and the lone Sadowsky NYC 4 I have owned.
It is that good.
I almost reneged on selling the bass, but Dave was patient with me and I said I would, so I did. I hope he enjoys and plays it in good health. And now I shall be on a P bass/LB-100/SB-1 quest.
