just finished building a vintage Ampeg Scrambler in a 1590B with a switchable boost and relayed true bypass:

I built a Scrambler clone last year. Interesting pedal with the Balance knob, basically a blend. Mine is from a Musikding kit and it's ridiculously loud. Unity at 9 o'clock. I can't imagine adding a boost :)
My favorite octave fuzz so far is the Foxx Tone Machine.

that's because the Musikding kit is a modified scrambler and they added a BJT booster to the output with a volume control. The originals only had two knobs: balance (i.e. blend)and texture without the extra volume boost circuit. That's why i put mine on a switch so it could be run like the original.

i dig fOXX Tone Machines too, but my favorite, at least at the moment, is the Way Huge Piercing Moose.

Thanks for the explanation. I really dig Joe Gore's Screech. Strongest and purest octave in the game. It sounds like a soprano. However, because of how pure it is and how much gain it has, it works better into a clean amp and it doesn't pair well with other fuzz pedals so I only use it for recording.

One of my open source hybrid filter preamps set up for acoustic instruments. Tayda kind of messed up on the graphics, I'm calling it B stock. Going to my brother for extensive gig testing, then I will work up an extended feature set for these applications. I like this design a lot more for acoustic guitar and mandolin than bass, in all honesty. Still works pretty well for bass too though.

I do the same and have a pile of unboxed circuits,lol. I cant keep enough switches and jacks though. I need to make an order soon. Lol.

Just finished this guy:

It's a modified W&C Phat Phuk with the external Bias pot, but I replaced the JFET input buffer section with a Cornish buffer, and wired it for buffered bypass. I call it the "Bubbly Phuk" (inspired by Taskmaster... 5x06 if anyone wants a laugh). It currently contains a GT2307, which sounded best to me when I was breadboarding the circuit, but I may experiment with transistors later on. One of my neater builds with respect to spaghetti!

Hello there,

I want to enter in the amazing world of diy pedal and I would like to start with a overdrive.

Where can I find a good web site with overdrive pcbs kits for bass?

I heard good things about musikding but the overdrives are for guitar....maybe add a blend?
