Anybody else afraid of any forums here?

I have been playing music over 60 years. I started out as a ignorant rock n roller but have grown musically into the person my parents sent me to for classical guitar lessons.

If i have a question about musicianship, theory, jazz, or music publishing, I go to DB, remembering most of these guys have music degrees and own a tuxedo or two.

I spend a lot of time at BG but have little or no interest in gear effects electronics usw. I avoid the beginner theory threads as there is a freakin universe of good info already out there on the internet. I look at the bass guitar as a tool, not a wife , so I dont get hung up on the tort vintage signature debates unless its the John Mayer model (great thread). I really dont see any serious stuff going down now in instruction or technique and i freelance so i really dont care about band angst. So i wind up in miscellaneous a lot.

One very useful piece of info i have gotten from BG is Grolsch washers as strap locks.

Scared of forums? Not really. I can usually back my statements up with facts. I know stupid by the smell and usually will go mute rather than start a flame war with the left side of the bell curve.

popsicle stick, unless you have some plastic knives from a fast food joint. Saw your post about mom not allowing shoes with smelly stuff in the freezer.
My ma, would throw away all the butter knives, if she found out someone was cleaning dog droppings, with one. Heck, I might even have to buy a new set of flatware. and an upgrade at that.

Thanks, man.

I want desperately at times to make some good spirited, and (I think) funny, jokes over in the effects forum. I dare not ever attempt that again. Just looking at the avatars of some of the posters hanging out there is enough to tame me.

I also shut off notifications to the classifieds and one particular artist forum here. The 2 unsubscriptions saves me a lot of time, money and aggravation. I'm not ascaired of those 2 places though. Just know it's better for me to keep out.

Effects I'm ascaired of.

How about you?

And yes, I know there's no such word but I like it :).

Standard English usage for "ascaired" is "skeert." And you should have a comma after "Effects."
