Anyone else addicted to cabinets?

No.

But then again, I'm a bedroom bassist (and not much of one at that), so it would pretty silly of me to have an arsenal of different cabs...having seven basses is already silly enough...

If I find something I like I’m usually all in and I’ll hold on to equipment that I feel is really good! I can’t say that I’ve had any amps or cabinets that I’ve regretted but I have had a few bases that I’ve regretted selling! Currently I have

I’ve been giggling strictly with the Audiokinesis cabinets and probably should turn the fearful’s, LDS, and GK cabinets loose into the wild. I’m holding on to the Audiokinesis cans because they are extremely hard to come by.

I’m currently looking for another Audiokinesis Changeling 112T and or 1505 or 6, then I might stop!

I was waiting for that lol, they aren’t all in one place…or super accessible. In the process, I did find cabs I almost forgot about; Rumble 40 cab, no amp, loaded with an emi alpha 10a, and a 2x8 I built for Dayton audio PA255 8” drivers. I liked that so much I got two more and loaded a 4x8 sheet it’s them. To me, cabinets are the flavor. I’ve used preamps and pedals and high end tube amps and bought expensive pickups and all of that stuff that leads one down the rabbit hole of tone. And I started to notice that certain cabs always had the same characteristics no matter what I did to the signal before hand. So for me, cabinets are the flavor, I plug straight into an amp, and if I like the cab that’s plugged into it, it sounds great. Cabinets that are designed to be flat and not color the sound at all is like eating a well done steak, or having a nice slice of pie that tastes like nothing, no flavor.

You must be fairly young to haul those monsters around. Your buying and carting habits might change as you age. I'm also not sure I see the necessity of two 4x10s and a 4x8, but apparently you do, so carry on!

The two cabs that I have gigged the most of the four I owne were also the least expensive of the lot: Powerhouse 210 that weighs as much as a 410 and a Carvin Micro 210 cab that weighs a lot less.

I think I have decided that my Ampeg SVT410HE is light enough that I am just going to use that at every single gig from this point forward.

Greenboy Audio Fearless F112 Cabinet review

I happened upon a Fearless 212/6 recently an just played my first gig with it. Despite being outdoors it was incredible, immediate thickness I could have only dreamed of. Had Aguilar SL410x and 2 SL212s previously and there is no comparison. Feels good to want for nothing now, though I would like to try those Genzler bass arrays to see how they compare.

What amp do you use with yours? I'm using a Genzler Magellan 800 which is also relatively new to me and I love it as well.

I had a bunch of cabs which included Ampeg, JBL, Eden, Bag End, Aguilar, ServoDrive, Peavy and Pacific Wood Works. These days I want loadins and loudouts to be a breeze so I sold all of it and just kept my Ampeg B15 for recording and only use Phi Jones C4 cabs which has 4x5" speakers. They measure 12" x 13" x 14" and surprisingly since 2019 I have not needed anything more than this. My back is much happier

Not addicted, necessarily. But I do like having a variety of configurations I can throw out there. I have a 2x15, a 2x12, a 4x10, a 2x10, and two different 1x10s, all very efficient and capable. If the right 2x8 came along, I could be tempted.

The only one that isn’t particularly portable is the Eden D-215XLT, so that one will only leave the house if ever I need a cannon—to make a statement.

I own one, and a couple DB112 in White Hot but they’re in the other room.

That is a potent combination. I used to have two DB112s, and paired with the DB751? Man, that is just a great sounding rig.

I too love cabs, but only have 2 cabs. Running IEMs 99% of the time. Amp/Cab is a feel and backup thing mostly.

The biggest problem I see here is that you dont have a Glockenklang cab yet...

That is a potent combination. I used to have two DB112s, and paired with the DB751? Man, that is just a great sounding rig.

It sounds as heavy as it feels.

The DB751 is too much brute force for small club gigs, but amazing for festivals.

At the moment I have too many bass guitars and too many amp heads - but just the right amount of cabs. (1x10, 2x10, 1x15 - all in regular service.)
Not that mysterious, really. I live in a 300 sq/ft cottage, and good gear is hard to find in this area. (Also really hard to sell, so I don't get frivolous with bulky stuff.)

I don't have the storage space to collect cabinets, so I collect pedals - "only" two dozen, which is meager compared to hardcore collectors.

My cab collection:
Bergantino NV610
Reiner Wunderkab 1x12 (x2), hybrid reflex with neo drivers
Reiner sealed 2x12, ceramic woofers plus mid driver

Mostly use the Wunders because they are light and loud, and don't sound as "neo" as other lightweight cabs I've tried.
