anyone else not watch TV?

In the last 2 years my TV habit has taken a huge downturn. I realized the other day that I haven't sat down and put on a tv show in months. In fact, when I'm somewhere there is a tv on (bar, etc) I don't watch it. I also have zero interest in any shows that my gf watches in the evening in bed. I just have so many other things that I'd rather be doing. I still watch movies, but as for TV shows I find them incredibly boring. Has TV programming changed that much? I'm 37 and it seems like I haven't had much interest in anything for years. Just wondering if I'm the only one or if there are other like-minded people...

I have to say i thought it was gonna be one of those smug "i don't watch tv, i dont even OWN a tv" kinda thread.

I don't watch much. I didn't actually have tv for some years. I'm more a movies person i got tv for my gf but mainly my interest was for films. Of course by now i realise ive watched 95% of films they might show on tv that might interest me. Lately i watch mainly talk shows. For some reason. I think its because it helps me de-stress before sleep AND since i dont have much a social life, it makes me feel part of the world somewhat. Is that sad? Thats probably pathetic. But yeah. When i DO watch series, i usually just get them online. I hate watching series as they are ongoing. Im not good at the waiting a week, or months, between episodes thing.

It's somewhat common for us to not watch TV for 3 or 4 days without either of us caring really. Sometimes in those days one or both of us will be playing video games, so the TV still gets used. I have a bunch of shows I like, and I find new ones every now and again, but mostly I let my friends who watch TV way more "filter" it for me before hand :D. It usually works pretty well, as I'll tell them about new music, hiking trails or events to hit up in return. It does seem like there's more garbage to sift through, but that could just be a matter of perception.

Dumped satellite 2 years ago when we realized that we were paying about $60+ per month to MAYBE watch 1 or 2 shows. No time, no interest, news was 99% BS. HuluPlus & Netflix now come from modem to "monitor" wirelessly via a PS3.

PS:The signature line below has been following me around for a LONG time.
