I suspect that any instruments made in Corona California, such as Fenders made there, to really drop in price.
on a different subject...My band's Guitar player works partime at the local regional Walmart distribution center here in the southeast. And Walmart was on this for the last few weeks. He said they had been bringing in hundreds of more trucks than normal and forcing them to work extra hours and filling up their stores for weeks before people started talking about the supply chain breakdown from China.

That was due to beating the trade war cutoffs. It's why we're not seeing supply chain issues from the Wuhan shutdown, because we've already stashed a lot of items. Now, I'd expect price increases when that supply dries up.
I grabbed a really nice Alembic Epic 5 for £650 at one point, when at the time the guide price was £1200 for a used minter like mine. I bought it off a lad who had a custom bass on order and needed to make the final payment so he slung the Alembic out very cheap. There were a lot of things going for realistic prices, if you had the dough to make a deal.
Neither the OPEC countries nor Russia produce much gear, so no price drop is to be expected.

I'm prepared not to overreact to a crisis that so far hasn't presented itself as an actual crisis. If all else fails I'll use soap and water and towels. Stupidity, panic and overreacting to everything that social media insists is a crisis does not make the need to hoard TP. Being prepared for 2 weeks of quarantine does not mean people need to deprive others of basic needs.

I rely on gig to pay for mortgage and raising my sons. It already sucks. All my events have been cancelled because of the 250 people restriction in Canada.
I see no reason why the situation would lower prices.

Pretty sure China will eventually stop shipping basses to the US... crippling the country... and eventually putting the country into a spiral of despair. After all... a country without $17 Basses surely would collapse from the impending doom.
The short answer is no mainly because too many people are having gas attacks. It’s supply and demand in motion.
I think the target market for vintage instrument buyers and covid19 are the same! God God forbid, but might be a few less buyers by the time this is over...

I personally don't dwell on why someone is selling. As long as they own it, I'm cool. It sounds like you'd pay above a low asking price. That's nice.
I had a friend who offered me a Roscoe Beck 5 for $500. I didn't buy it from him... but the next guy did. Lesson learned.

Also, it stands to reason that many who are hospitalized, even if they survive just fine, may come out with huge bills if not bankruptcy.
