So I could get a haircut while I'm there? How cool is that?!
That would be the idea. This is all spitballing but what I have in mind is in order to keep down the cost of venue rental we'd likely have to prebook (and prepay) for 8-10 cuts and/or shaves or whatever would keep a barber busy for 4'ish hours of event time. It'd be a bit more limited event (probably to 20-25 attendees based on the single room space available) but I think there's something to be said for smaller, curated events in cool spaces where alcohol is permitted.

I can't stress enough that there's nothing even remotely for certain yet, as I want to concentrate on the Spring GTG first.

Great, I'll update the list!
Is "Duke" the same as "TheDuke1" or is it someone else?

Maybe not a multi-day event yet... though you all are more than welcome to use this thread to arrange additional hangouts that weekend.

I will say two things though.
1) If this goes well I'll definitely be scheduling one for next year.

2) I'm also looking into the possiblity of doing a smaller mid-year event. A friend of mine just opened up a very nice barbershop in the neighborhood.
Principle Barbers
It's got a reasonable amount of room, a small stage and cool midcentury-Modern vibe/furnishings. I'm discussing with him the idea of having a "Bass Cuts" evening in the fall. I'll start a separate thread for kicking that idea around after the April GTG.
I am one in the same

Just seeing this now and hope to be able to commit shortly. Will county resident and know a few folks on this thread already. Thanks for doing this!!
Slap me for not giving you heads up. And that reminds me, I just sent a message to another local P&W TB'er who I haven't seen chime in for a while.

Already looks like we'll have twice last year's turnout!!

Hope you can make it!

No worries, I think I've already got you on the list. I do think we may double last years turnout. IIRC, we had about 11 "for sure's" on the list an about 15 folks showe up. This year we've already 23 signups and that doesn't include folks from the Chicago bassist facebook who might attend and some other folks I've invited!

I think that 30 would be a pretty big number and we might get there!

Just a heads up that the GTG is 2 weeks away!

I've decided to bring along a couple instruments for sale. My Ibanez Artcore with Jack Cassady pup/guts and my first generation (better preamp) Hadean 24" uke bass. Both nice instruments but aren't going to get used so out they go.
