One more thing I thought of. Are there a couple people who would be willing to take turns managing the door? After the first hour we'll probably just listen for the knocks, but for the first hour we'll want to have a person signing folks in, collecting pizza money, etc.

How about 2 folks, each for 30 min?

I will locate a large enough cooler. I am pretty sure my parents have one I can borrow.
Sweet!
If you can bring that I think we have almost everything covered.

I'm bringing the "HELLO I'M" name tags, so I might as well be first doorguy anyway. What time will I need to be there for that duty?

Hey Chi-town TB'ers -
I'm a (way, way) former South Sider then North Sider considering a trip back that I could possibly time with the weekend in question. Are out of towners (but still White Sox/Cubs fans) welcome to this GTG? I wouldn't be able to bring any gear along, but it sounds like there may be some on hand ;). Thx! Tom

Wow.... Chicago GTG? Who knew? Not sure if I'm able to attend at this moment as we have kids out of town and big birthdays, but would love to drop by if available.
Hope you can make it!

You're more than welcome. We've got several out of town folks coming. Even some northern Wisconsin'ites!

My friend Mark will also be coming down with Duke and me.
Great, I'll update the list!
Is "Duke" the same as "TheDuke1" or is it someone else?

This is great we might have to make this a 2day event
Maybe not a multi-day event yet... though you all are more than welcome to use this thread to arrange additional hangouts that weekend.

I will say two things though.
1) If this goes well I'll definitely be scheduling one for next year.

2) I'm also looking into the possiblity of doing a smaller mid-year event. A friend of mine just opened up a very nice barbershop in the neighborhood.
Principle Barbers
It's got a reasonable amount of room, a small stage and cool midcentury-Modern vibe/furnishings. I'm discussing with him the idea of having a "Bass Cuts" evening in the fall. I'll start a separate thread for kicking that idea around after the April GTG.
