I'm interested.

No tutorial needed for me. I just turn knobs till I get the tone I like.
Tone and EQ have some things in common but they are not the same; their purposes differ. How we use them often does not differ, ergo, we too often get what we want while the folks on the floor suffer mud or ice picks according to the characteristics of venue.

There is a lot that I don’t know, that I really should have an understanding. EQ is one of them. I’ve had a nice EQ section of my Ampeg and I never really figured out how to get the most out of it. One friend just told me to create a rough sideways “S” shape. I took their word for it and luckily, people have liked my playing. Haha!

Another thing I’ve felt awkward about for a long time: I am comfortable with certain tasks separately but I can’t seem to put them together. For example, recording something myself using simple Garage Band. I can play. I am comfortable with computers and own an Interface device. I cannot figure out how the components go together and computer settings to record something myself.

I’ve been tempted to respond to many Craigslist bass player listings but the normal requests ask to include personal samples.

Well since there clearly is interest enough that the droppy, stumbo, and other tb'rs should make some eq videos, and this thread is already way too long for them to post those videos in this thread instead of a new thread...

Anyone got any commentary on how bad Dark Phoenix was?
