This thread is cracking me up! At what point in the thread does the Original Post become the one that's off topic? As best I can tell we haven't been talking about two DBs and a bass for quite a while. I think its kinda gravitated towards the wisdom of salmon.

The Wisdom of Salmon fun fact of the day - Salmonella is not named for the fish, but after Daniel Elmer Salmon, a veterinary pathologist.

How about this scenario:

You're shopping at the local clothes store. You take 2 pairs of pants off the rack and head to the fitting room. You put on a pair and step outside the fitting room to ask your wife what she thinks. Meanwhile, a Mr. Fancypants goes into your fitting room and takes the other pair. You tell him "Hold on there, I'm not done trying on those pants." He says "Too bad. They were just sitting there. I'm going to buy them."

Would you find Mr. Fancypants's actions acceptable? Is he perfectly within his right to take the pants? After all, you haven't paid for them and you're not wearing them.

Just did a real world test of the Fair Game Mentality theory at my local grocery store.

Needed a few last minute items for Thanksgiving dinner. One of the items was a pecan pie.

Strolled over to the bakery. No such luck they were all sold out.Just so happens though a fellow shopper had two sitting in their or should I say the stores shopping cart.

So given the Fair Game Mentality theory,I walked over and scooped one up out of the stores buggy the fellow shopper was pushing.

For whatever reason, the fellow shopper got unbelievably agitated at me.

I tried to explain to my fellow shopper that they hadn't paid for the pie yet,so it was fair game. They said it was in their cart but I explained that the cart didn't belong to them.It belonged to the store and that until they paid for the pie it belonged to the store as well.

So I took my pie and checked out.Maybe there is something to this theory after all.

Sounds like a Seinfeld episode!

I would tell him, "Hold on! It's going to take more than *that* for you to get into my pants."

If you leave the dressing room door open while you stroll around the store looking for opinions on your fancy pants then, yes, you deserve to lose anything you may have left in the room including your phone and wallet. In that case Mr Fancypants would be both a fool and a douschebag.
