Thanks @B-Mac

it’s got some mystery flats and missing a pickguard. I may have fun with the pickguard. The strings are a bit too boomy on the neck pickup, so now it’s time to over analyze strings to find what’s woody and articulate
So, is the Honeymoon over? Or does it still have magic for you. I hope it is the latter.;)

I'd like to string an agb205 (5 string) E to C ("high c") and could use some advice on flatwound strings.

Ideally, I'd like to use Labella deep talkin bass flatwounds, but I can't find single strings for purchase (to provide the .029 c string) and the available 6 string set (which contains a .029 string) is for regular (34") scale instruments afaik.

I'm guessing not, but would these regular scale strings work on an agb205 (particularly the low E)? Does anyone know where a single .029 labella dtf could be had (I figure it would be the thicker strings for which scale differences would cause problems)?

If "no" to both of these questions, what flatwound strings would you recommend for E-C tuning on the agb205? Thanks!

The AGB205, despite being a short scale bass, takes regular long scale strings, since it was designed with some distance between its tune-o-matic bridge and the tail piece.

WHAT HE SAID

Always check winding length (not scale length) ball to taper above the nut.
