AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

This. The cobalt flats are astoundingly good, they have punch for days and an articulateness that only Sadowsky Black Label flats approach in my experience.

Just hit a year with my set, and have no desire at all to mess with 'em any time soon. And I'll be rocking them through my TC112 this weekend at the fabulous Bingen Huckleberry Festival, surely the zenith of live performance venues. Mmmm...pie!

They sound excellent on my Stingray 5. They tame effectively the aggressiveness of that bass, but still have punch and clarity. It's a very unique tone actually that I am really enjoying. I also just ordered low tension flats by Labella for my P bass and I am looking forward to having some old school tone on tap.

I don't have a gig for a while so I was sadly playing along with my P.A. system in the shed. But DANG! My two H1203's sure sound good with my GK MB500! I'm so happy with the tone I'm getting from my amp and bass.

I have to make it out to the shed half a dozen times a week just to play my mini stack. Shoot! Between bands and I currently own the best mini-stack I've ever owned in my life! Sounds like the story of my life! LOL.

Did a little recording over the weekend, nothing I'm ready to share just yet, but I continue to be very happy with my TC112v3. I set a Sennheiser MD 421 II about six or eight inches from the 12 in a big space and the Mouse just sounded fantastic. What Rob talks about in terms of bloom is spot on. It's not a bass for manic, sharp, music that demands immediate attack, but for everything else? Hooboy, the bass through this rig sounds GOOD. I'm still thinking I might want a little more bottom than the TH500 can give me, though it did sound excellent.

Hey guys, I have a couple questions for ya.

First, did the Duke fall off the planet? Or is he working diligently on beautiful AK cabs?

Second, I think Duke mentioned he had a surprise idea that he was thinking of creating a cab that would accomodate rack sized heads? Anyone remember that?

Aside from that, I hope everyone is enjoying their AK cabs! :D

I shot Duke an email earlier in the week to see how my Hathor 212 build was coming along. He's working on a bunch of cabs right now and mine might be shipping out this weekend. I'll post up pics when I receive it.

My understanding is he's been in and out of town a couple of times. Back home now. I asked him to to take whatever time he needs to build my pair of 1203s, 'cause they'll be going to 11!
