Falling in love with my TC112 AF v1.0 all over again.

This was my first backline gig since grabbing a Tech 21 Fly Rig 5 to use for in-ear gigs. Decided at the last minute to run the FR5 into the front of my G-K MB200, just for the heck of it.

Sansamp section set with a touch of treble rolloff, a pinch of mid-push, and the bass roughly flat (maybe the merest hair of boost). The output was around 1 o'clock, and the gain at 10 o'clock. Boost section at about 8 o'clock, and used for a volume jump on louder sections. The G-K was set "flat", treble at 10 o'clock, low and high mids at 1, and bass at noon.

The Sansamp warmed up the MB200 just enough, and provided the merest bit of hair on the notes without being noticeably overdriven.

Words totally fail me. This is the tone that I've been searching for all my life. A little old-school, yet with a touch of G-K articulation, a nice 3-d quality from the rear tweeter, and perfectly balanced.

A perfect one-trip carry- Bass and electronics in the Dingwall gigbag, cab in my free hand. This is living!

Hey guys, I have a couple questions for ya.

First, did the Duke fall off the planet? Or is he working diligently on beautiful AK cabs?

Second, I think Duke mentioned he had a surprise idea that he was thinking of creating a cab that would accomodate rack sized heads? Anyone remember that?

Aside from that, I hope everyone is enjoying their AK cabs!

Duke shot me an email last week. He had to make an unexpected trip out of town. Hey man....Life happens. Plus, I think you are correct in that he is busy as heck making cabs. I'm sure he'll stop in when the dust settles.

My understanding is he's been in and out of town a couple of times. Back home now. I asked him to to take whatever time he needs to build my pair of 1203s, 'cause they'll be going to 11!

I asked him the same thing! I'm looking forward to gigging a 1203 (or two) in the next few weeks!! Woo-hoo!!

These will be my fist AK cabs. Almost pulled the trigger a couple of times on used AK TC's here on TB. But the reputation and price of the 1203 have been eating away at me for some time. GAS: She's a b*tch.

Hi Pat C. I went and read it and I'm honestly ignorant of upright. I admire the discipline you guys have to learn that instrument.
Having said that, I don't think you'll find anything wrong with the H1203's. I have a pair and I think they are THE PERFECT 12" bass cab. Small, 25 pounds, with the ability to turn off the highs and mids, and @DukeLeJeune will even offer to add a 4/8 ohm switch if desired. I can tell you that my double stack with a Gallien Krueger MB500 is a tone and volume beast. It shocks people when they first see it then hear it. But what I love about them is the PERFECT balance of notes from top to bottom. I've never used a cab that was so perfectly balanced yet customizable by the user.

I tried out a new band last night. Good lead singer. Took one 1203 and subway. They had an outbuilding, something like 40x40, for practice with a room mic recording to a computer. She sent me this today. They had their own little version of this song with a different bridge that caught me off guard but the little cab sounds pretty dang good.

I honestly don't remember, and I would not want to speak to Duke's turnaround time. It may be more/less at this point.

If you're wondering about turnaround time ask the man himself. VERY nice guy and a SUPER easy deal!!

Oooooooh, no! Not so fast. I'm not falling for that old trick again. Fool me once...

A quick plug in to make sure FedEx didn't mess them up and "WOW!", they sound good! Those little rear switches make a big diff. They aren't just for show. And each position sounds great! The port plugs are an added bonus. Can't wait to try them out this weekend!! (I'll prolly end up peeing myself again.)
