I wouldn't say that, I bought and sold 2 F basses. Different strokes and all that.... but I now have 2 Dingwalls. Great either way.

AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

I hear they're coming though, per the interview with Sheldon at NAMM.Hey, F's are nice too. Just not my bag. Annnnnnd you can't get a Combustion in a 6 string. And a Canadian order is at least 12 months wait time now
I actually had a neat Combustion, picked it up off a staff member. It was a 3X with vol/vol/vol/tone, definitely a cool bass.

I don't want to gush this early in the romance but so far I'm a fan, so to to speak. But never had a problem with the sound of ibanez, fender, Roscoe, ltd, etc thru the ak's. Can't wait to gig this thing.

It's fun playing anything through them, not just custom Canadian ones with swirly paintjobs that cost used car money.
course, that bass might last you longer than a used car and have fewer maintenance costs.

I sold my eden 410 this week, and all I've got in the meantime is a rumble 25. An impressive little cheap amp, but not exactly stellar. Can't wait to have something barely larger than the rumble, that slays the 410!

Outlook not so good.
I paid Barefaced price for my first car, drove it for two years and 60k miles and sold it for a profit. I put that much money into upgrading my same-year Jazz Plus V. Thing better run great for another few decades!
I still wouldn't buy an F-Bass, because Dingwalls have made me a fanned-fretter for life.
Still, George Furlanetto makes some of the most beautifully crafted basses I've ever seen.
The really good news, is that Duke's cabs bring out the best in just about anything. You literally can't lose with AudioKinesis!

I love my AK cabs and constantly get compliments on tone using any bass I run through them, but..... I have had issues of distortion in the midrange at volume that wasn't all that excessive. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I'm running a Markbass LMlll so the wattage is not unreasonable, and I play with a light touch. None of the bands I'm with play crazy loud like in the old days - guitarists with Fender Deluxes and the like. I'm kind of puzzled by this.

Which cabs? Quite a few people in the fEARful crew have found the LM and many other modern amps in that power class to come up a bit short, particularly into 8 ohm loads.
I have had a few times where I felt like the cabinet was being driven too hard, and I don't play anywhere near the top of the wattage limits. I attribute this to my choice of cabinet placement, room dynamics, and me pushing too hard to get past a gorilla fisted drummer. I often forget about the switches and port on the Hathor 1203, which probably would fix any room deficiencies on the spot. Man, do I freaking love that cabinet.
I run the TC115 wide (4ohm) on gigs. Also have the TC112 4ohm but usually use that for rehearsal.

It could be your mid driver is on the edge of giving up, or a faulty switch connection. Both of those could eliminated by borrowing a head. You can also email Duke directly to address your concerns. His customer service is exceptional.
I have had that issue running my CMD102P with one cab, adding a second cab fixed it. I never noticed it using my Thunderchild 115.
I have a MB LMK 2 channel head never had that issue...I tried the Mesa D800+ yesterday and think I will move that way down the road for smaller gigs. (I use a pope pre and qsc plx 2504 for bigger gigs)
Hey @DukeLeJeune, since you didn't ask.....How about an attenuator for the Bite switch instead of an on/off switch?
