Well, since I'm heading into the OR for an appendectomy in an hour or two, not so much winning as tolerating ;-)

Best of luck with the surgery! I had my appendix out at 17, just before they came out with laparotomy. That just means I have the huge scar and was in the hospital for days recovering. You will have a few little dots and go home the same day.

Thanks for the well wishes. Actually was open procedure as the doc said it would be quicker/easier in my case. Up and around, hopefully home today as long as I keep the hospital food down.
