What's that pre-amp you are using?
What's that pre-amp you are using?
On one cab no problem. I wouldn't stack it on 2 cabs. I have stacked the pope qsc rig behind on both as it's lighter. Although on mobile stages I have just put the head on my pedal case.
Mark, you didn't ask me, and I'm not gigging. But I can report that these stacks were rock solid. So stable that poking the head caused the whole stack to jiggle as one piece on the isolation pad's foam:

The pope is awesome for clean tones. It's definitely my number 1. But my main gig is rock covers so I have been thinking about some sort of tube option.
If you can find one - Aguilar DB659 works for a lot of stuff, but esp. Rock! The pope is awesome for clean tones. It's definitely my number 1. But my main gig is rock covers so I have been thinking about some sort of tube option.
You may have missed the picture but I have a V type pre amp. Just need a smaller lighter power amp.
I was supremely impressed when trying out the 1863 how well it performed when sealed. Especially because the driver "aren't designed for sealed enclosures", or so most self proclaimed box design gurus would claim.
after receiving my H1203 pair november last year just getting around to experimenting with them as sealed cabs. distinct difference. really nails the jamerson/babbit sound with a P bass & flats! just roll back the tone knob about 1/2 way. all i need now is a suitable piece of foam for the bridge. thanks, Duke.
RAD1000!![]()
So I was looking at the rad in the classifieds would that unit be too much power for my 1203 and TC112..600 watts @ 8ohms. (I only use 1 cab 70% of the time) and no volume so would control via my v type pre amp..
hi, Duke. yeah, thought about that. this evening i'm exploring the sealed cabs + switch position variations. trying to establish some kind of personal baseline settings. baby steps...Thanks... thanks a heap!
Have you tried one cab sealed and one cab ported? Just curious as to whether that sums to something that works well. Conventional wisdom says that's a no-no, but my modeling program says the phase difference between the two is arguably fairly benign in this case.
Verellen just announced a 700 watt @ 4 ohm monoblock power amp, FWIW.
