Thanks for that - I agree that if it was, I think the TC's will be the way to go.
That being said, since originally thinking through this idea, I've tweaked it somewhat. Likely I'll grab a Noble preamp instead, and run that into the Quilter, using the Stomp for effects and building patches with amps for silent practice at home via USB. In that case, the Hathor/Changeling come back into play I think.
My biggest concern with going with the TC is having it being too "clean" and polite if I wanted to go to a more normal amp setup in the future, or have others use different heads with my cab.
In case you haven't already, check the tightness of the driver fasteners &/or all hardware, if those are good, I'd pull the woofer & check the interior for any loose wires &/or connections, check the rear connections of the tweeter(s).
Just thought it appropriate to share the excitement that I’m expecting a Changeling 112 sometime (?) later this month. And yeah, I’m excited.

Seriously this cab is absolutely mind-blowing. I can only begin to imagine how huge a pair of 112s (or a single 212) must sound.
the "too polite" thing is not something i get.
imho, the tc112s put out what you give them. you give them some snarly stuff, they're gone give it back. the mids are probably not as hyped as they *can be* on the hathor 1203s or changeling talls. the caveat is that i generally (not always) tend to take out some of the mids on the back switches on both the hathors and changelings.

A Hathor on top of a C112T is a thing I will not be without. Ever.

Look that's fair enough - I'm trying to use terms to describe something that I've never heard, only read about. And worse, I'm having to make buying decisions based on not hearing any of the AK line at all.
From my understanding of the differences between the product lines, the TC will be super honest in terms of what I put in, I'll get out. The Hathor/Changeling range will impart more of their own "sound" onto whatever signal I feed them, however they in their own right are very clean and highly flexible (as you've mentioned, with the mids switches and porting options).
I'm used to play rock/heavy rock/pop/alternative, and am starting to move into more synth territory. I like dirt/drives. I don't play URB and don't really have plans to. When running the Quilter, I love that it's clean, but I find myself looking to options (eg: Helix/Noble) to add colour to my tone.
I *think* I want a cab that's relatively uncoloured and highly flexible. I'd like to have the same cabs that I can use for any gig that I might find myself in. But that's the key word here; relative. From everyone else's opinions and experiences, I think the Hathor/Changelings will get me closer to what I want.

there are also a fair amount of live vids of me using various cabs. my sound is generally my sound, though.
with synths and so forth, i’d probably go hathor or changeling. mostly because there’s probably a little more sparkle up high with them. i do a thing where i run stereo hathors and use stereo processing and ipad synths through them.
i feel like i’ve had good luck with different types of dirt through the tc, hathors changeling 12t.

Without me actually even seeing a TC, I’m going to propose a question you may want to ask yourself;
If you’re going to use dirt/distortion/fuzz/overdrive, how do you want it presented?
For me, my preference would be paper coned mid drivers and not tweeters/compression drivers or other high frequency driving devices. (This is just my preference).
For the record, any breakup I crave comes from tube devices and is in the tube breakup feel, not clipping into fuzzy stuff. More Like a Monique pushed into warm and full territory.
Tweeters, no matter how good they are, don’t have the same tonal representation for what my ears are looking for when looking for this.
Although if I’m running clean, I’m sure a TC would be an awesome.

That link looks like some good stuff, I'll take a look with headphones when I get home. I know the TAFM well too, owned one myself for a few years and it's a great fuzz pedal, so I'll have a good idea of what it's sounded like tracked.
Yep, this is another thing that's made me lean towards the Hathor/Changeling. Historically I think I've preferred paper cone mid drivers for distortion rather than tweeters/horns. There's a harshness that seems to be imparted I find when using tweeters/horns that I don't enjoy. Hell, I ran an NV610 for years without any tweeter at all and I loved that cab a lot...but I also knew it was coloured as hell.
interestingly, because of the midrange switch, to my ear, the hathors/changelings have more mids, which can be harsh with the wrong fuzz eq.
the tc horn is not as present in that regard as the h1203 and c12t.

I know Duke doesn't typically design for a super deep bass voice, but when I hit the deep switch on my D-800, turned up the volume, and removed the port plugs on my C112T this weekend, I had a very full, rich low end with absolutely no mud or looseness you can get with some deeply voiced cabs when you push higher volumes.
Duke definitely hit a sweet spot in his cab tuning for those who like big lows, but still want clear note definition. I continue to be amazed and my drummer continues to be very complimentary every time I play that cab.

Well, looks like I'll be joining the family soon enough. Just paid my deposit for a C112T.
I'd like to echo everyone else in their sentiments, and thank @DukeLeJeune for being one of the most open and genuine vendors I've had the pleasure of working with. He was more than happy to answer my metaphorical blizzard of questions and nerd out with details with me until I came to a solution that I think I'm happy with.
This will likely be one of two cabs - a C112T now, and a second order for a C112 later down the track.

Anyone got their hands on a 1506 yet? I demo’d a 1505 a few years ago and loved the grindy you could get. If I remember correctly the new 1506 was going to be voiced a bit more aggressively than the 1533 or 1203.
I’m waiting on a 1505, ordered back in June I think. I suppose it’s one of the last ones. Duke hadn’t yet announced the 1506. But he said it was the most aggressively voiced cab he makes. I can only imagine the 1506 will follow suit and fill that niche.
