I'll shamelessly hijack the thread to say I have an amazing, Mike Arnopol-built, composite TC212 for sale over at the european classifieds, best cab I've played. I loved everything about it (sound, size, shape, weight, volume) but I'm going ampless so someone should grab it, I don't think there are others of its kind in Europe, had to import it from the US. Shoot me an offer if interested, thanks.
TC112 V1 is the absolute best cab I’ve ever owned and still own. It handles all duties... Bass, keys, drum loops, tracks, etc. Absolutely love it and love it paired with my 1203.

The truth needs to come out. Crop circles are real and the Children Of The Thunder are...aiyeee, no, please!!!
Anytime someone mentions crop circles, this pops into my head. It's one of our rehearsal warm-up tunes (drummer and me). Using a D112 on the Hathor and Cobalt flats on my LB-100 gets pretty close to Tom Fowler's tone here.
Hey Ken, it's great to hear from you! I'm glad to hear all is well. I'm also still using a Kart-a-bag that you recommended, and it's served me well. And thanks to you and Charlie, I've been enjoying ThunderChild cabs for years.

Hi all, does anyone have an online source for replacement plugs? I lost another last night and am thinking of just picking up a bunch in bulk.
The one I grabbed at the hardware store didn’t fit right, which is probably why it bailed at load out.

While I’ve moved onto powered MAS Cabinets, specifically a 4.5x5 and a 1/8. the TC-112 (v1) I owned was, pound for pound one of the finest Double Bass and Electric Bass cabs I’ve been fortunate to gig with. Ken Jung sold it to me used with a beautiful Le Cover padded case. That cabinet would do outdoor shows on big stages, without breaking a sweat.
That combination of high power handling and 4-ohm impedance is addictive, isn’t it?
So much headroom for its size...
I checked out a used MAS in Toronto (don’t know what model). It sounded good, but it broke up so early that I walked away after a few seconds.
While it's hard to say which MAS you were playing through, there are so many current and "heritage" versions, I've never had an issue with any of mine breaking up.
My powered 4x5.5 can get loud enough for me to do 13 and 16 peice big band gigs, without breaking a sweat, and it's dispersion covers the band and the room.
Of course, I'm not usually playing at really high volume levels, even when I do concerts with the Lakland 5strings I own. If I were, I'd be lookiing at Thunderchild TC-112 again
because the form factor of that cabinet vs it's projection, dispersion, volume and clean low end is astounding.
I love my precious Hathor 1203s with just one port. Ordered 'em just before the change, wouldn't trade.
The only Audiokinesis Cabinet I currently have is one of the Birdhaus 4x6 it's a really nice one handed carry, into small venues with the

I had the privilege to play through one of the original composite Thunderchild cabs that Mike built for Duke, so I'm well aware of the quality of his work.
The MAS I played through was so underwhelming that I expect either the amp head or the cab was damaged. This was a trade-in at a big-box music store, so who knows how it had been treated in the past...
Everyone has different tastes and what may be worth the wait for some may not be worth it to others BUT for me it was absolutely worth it. I LOVE my Hathor 1203. Best cab I’ve ever owned. The tone, the weight and easy schlep are unbelievable. Versatile as all get out. Handles a ton of power and sounds killer.
Both Duke and Mike have had issues this year. Let’s keep both of them in our thoughts. Building cabinets is a labor of love for these guys, but as John Lennon once said “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans. Running an independent business, isn’t easy and sometimes it just wears you down.
You also have used the MAS18 as well, right? Do you prefer the Birdhaus for certain gigs? If so, when? I've been wondering if the 18 in the angled monitor-like position would give dispersion comparable to the Birdhaus. I'm tempted to attempt a DIY Birdhaus 46. It's such a simple design, and the 6" Faital is pretty darn cheap.

Yes, I do have the powered MAS 1/8 and It’s my number one cabinet. The Birdhaus 4x6 has it’s advantages in small cramped spaces where you and you’re bandmates are right on top of each other. The issue with the Faital 6FE100’s is that Duke feels their power handling is lower than the 100 watts they are rated at. So as a result of that, you cannot run the cabinet with a powerful head like my Walter Woods Electroacoustic Ultra. Something like the BAM 200 works great, but it limits the volume. With 4 string basses at moderate volume levels it’s a wonderful little cabinet.
